I'd say this. Turn your water mains off!"
Then you will ask where's the mains... its usually under the kitchen sink depending on how old the house is. Hopefully it's not been wound out to the max, you may struggle to turn it  |

Turns your stop tap off, usually a brass handle you twist, found under the sink at the back, if it stops, you’ve got a burst pipe, if not then you’ve got the ballache of finding where it’s coming from.

I'd say this. Turn your water mains off!
Then you will ask where's the mains... its usually under the kitchen sink depending on how old the house is. Hopefully it's not been wound out to the max, you may struggle to turn it "
Lastly if you turn your mains off and you have a boiler, I'd isolate that off too. |

Yes I would do this too.
Also if you know it is rain water have a look outside at the where the gutters from your home empty. If they are blocked (and they do get blocked) that might be the issue. You might be able to clear a blockage at the entry to the run-off drain, but anything further down will probably require a professional drainage specialist. |

I would open the cover outside and switch the water off to the house first . I have those longflexible poles in the garage, I would push them through my drains to see if it’s blocked.
Then I would know who to call |

Turning the mains off wouldn't hurt to eliminate that possibility of it being a burst radiator pipe etc. But if it's definitely only after rain then it could be a number of things, roof, gutters, storm drain... |

Sounds like they broke something when they unblocked it. Maybe you can get a brand new floor and the whole area redecorated if they don’t want you claiming and subrogating on their professional indemnity. |

We had a similar thing happen and it turned out to be a burst pipe under the floor. We had plumbing cover with British Gas who spent several days sorting the problem. We then claimed for new flooring in the hall and kitchen on house contents insurance. |

I'm getting my gutters cleaned as soon as other workers have finished on my roof. Apparently they have temporarily moved a down pipe, could that be what's causing tile leakage? |

Could be, without looking at it I couldn’t say. The thing is with water, it’s like most blokes on here, it’ll go anywhere it finds a hole.

well it's about a week or so but, there's definitely no blockages as went through all the drains |

It's a difficult one I will have to speak to them, but I reckon most of the house problems they won't pay out as they will put it down to disrepair |

If it's only happens after rain then it's not a leak so no need 2 turn water off..also if down pipe been moved I would say that's ur issue could it be water is coming under ur door and into hall way ? |

Originally I thought it was coming through a leak in our porch roof then spreading into house, then thought maybe the ceiling, but no definitely looks like it's seeping through the tiles |

No repair guy and tend to break rather than fix things but If it rains it usually means it's cold. If it's cold your heating comes on, so do you have a radiator near the place water is being found? People have said above it could be a burst pipe - it might be a pipe feeding a radiator that? Not sure if this wouldn't happen all the time or just when heating would come on. |

It’s hard to make an assessment without knowing anything about the house, surroundings, drainage, levels, substrate.
Have there been any changes to groundwork near walls (slabs laid, concreting) or has any water runoff or gutter downpipes changed?

They have removed my gutter downpipe temporarily to do roofing work so I'm hoping this may be the cause of it, and the buggers put it back in asap |
