After reading replies it seems the phrase love making has different meanings for us. From a fab meet I can’t see how ‘love making’ can truly happen as the feelings are different however I think the art of sensual build up can be considered love making.

I get that it's used as a shorthand to signal a more sensual intensity, sex that leans in to eroticism rather than primal lust but... it's not lovemaking. Besides, making love doesn't have to be this tender, soft lighting, tears on orgasm, all of that.

Isn't love making more about the person you're having sex with rather than the sex itself?
Love making can be slow and sensual or passionate and animalistic it's more about being in love with the person and wanting to express that physically
I have slow and sensual sex with people I'm not in love with all the time I wouldn't say that is making love. But then making love is a phrase I would never use anyway. |
