Driving to Bilston from Portsmouth got to my company depot loaded up my materials for the week listening on the way home, stopped at Warwick services on M40 watching it on the telly screen with about 40 others in total silence and disbelief. |

"Some people I was working with told me about it, to be honest I was busy and had other things on my mind and wasn’t really that interested at the time. "
I assume you are referring to 11/9/01 OP, haven’t got a clue what I was doing on 9/11/01. |

I was working at the time, before heading back to uni. We had the radio on and it was announced. My area manager and the assistant manager from our nearest branch were also there in New York. |

In my kitchen in my student house in Birmingham. Heard it on the radio and thought initially they were talking about about a little private plane like a Cessna, not a passenger jet.

I came home from school and remember being fuming that the news was on every channel. I couldn't watch CBBC or CITV. I had to go outside and play football all evening instead.
FYI, this will make more sense when I say I was 9 at the time. |

I was working for a company in Johannesburg. Someone came in and said a plane had crashed into the World Trade Centre in New York. At first we thought it was a light aircraft, then the seriousness became apparent, and the internet just shut down as news sites were overwhelmed. I phoned my wife, who was at home pregnant. She'd been snoozing in front of the TV. I asked her what was on, and she said it was some disaster movie, before realising she was watching CNN live... |

I can’t remember the bit before, but I know I watched the towers burning and people jumping live as it happened as I remember being sat on my own on my sofa, horrified, crying.
Not sure if I was off work ill at the time? |

It was morning as where I lived was -2hrs Eastern US time. I was teaching an English class (to adults) and we’d popped out for a coffee break. There was a little TV in the reception and we were 😳😳😳😳😱😱😱
I was meant to be married on Sept 7, 2001 and going to NYC for my honeymoon on the 8th. But I called it all off like 2 weeks before. Whoa. This made my head spin!
I still wish I could have seen the Twin Towers. Selfish, I know. Sorry. 🖤 |
