"I’m going through a bit of a tough time at the moment - just life, wouldn’t say it’s anything truly bad.
But what do people do to make themselves happy?"
Aw 🫂 sorry to read you're having a tough time at the moment 😚 I hope it passes quickly and you feel better soon
I'm crap; when things go bad I'm like a tortoise, go completely in myself, talk to no-one, don't go out and just try and busy myself at home, reading, cooking, crochet or sleep - I know I should go out & be busy outside but I just can't do it

I don’t think I do one thing OP. Everytime I’ve felt down I try to divert my mind but what I do depends on the time of year and the cause. If it was this time of year I’d get myself out and about with my camera. I would go for a walk in the countryside or into a city to photograph the architecture or urban decay.
It is good to talk so please don’t bottle it up.

Thanks! Yeah, I’m a bit like that myself from time to time. I need a hobby. |

Different things work for different people so don’t worry too much if a suggestion does nothing for you, just move on to the next.
Making notes of good things can help. Whether it’s a song you like coming on the radio, you reach into your underwear drawer and your favourite pair are in your hand or someone makes you laugh.
It’s easy for us to notice the bad things, especially when we’re feeling down, so making a note of the good things means that when we do a mental tally up in the evening, it can feel a bit more balanced.
Hope you can find something that works for you. |

I swear crocheting has saved my mental health at times!
You could crochet so kinky undies!! 😉 😂

"Find joy in little things. One small thing that lightens your heart even for a second. It will compound. "
Very good advice. It's so easy to feel overwhelmed when we are down. Trying and succeeding in one small positive step can help turn the tide. |

So sorry to hear. It has been said but little distractions and small happy things and one step at a time. In this weather weather, fresh air and a nice walk. A little chat to a friend, or even a stranger, if it will help a bit. I hope it all starts to feel a little better for you soon. |

I used to be in some FB groups where people posted photos of their local area or the likes of Scotland from the roadside. Some of them had a theme of the day or week so people weren’t posting old photos.
I also do weather photos and post them to the weatherwatchers site on the BBC then look to see if it is going to be on the telly. |
