So… we’re thinking we might go to our first club… up until know we’ve enjoyed private meets and we’re just wondering what sort of thing people wear.. obviously we know no means no and those sorts of things, do we have to join all clubs as members or can you do one off visits..

Basically any tips and advice appreciated

Thank you! X

I like the clubs where dress down happens around ten.. bar areas are dressed and play areas are dressed down.

I wasn't keen on the one club I attended where it was dress down immediately upon entering haha

Some clubs will be dress down straight away so boxers or towel for a guy and lingerie or towel for a lady.

Some clubs have newbie evenings so you try before you buy. Sometimes socials are held in clubs or other people take over the club and you don’t need membership.

Clubs are pretty much like going to a bar other than you may be in less clothes and then you can go to playrooms when you feel comfortable.

They can be as vanilla or as wild as you want them to be.

Check what clubs are near you and check out their website. They'll have a bunch of info of what the club is about and what to expect.

One tip is make sure you have a play bad, most people use a small travel bag, have condoms and lube, wet wipes, travel shower gel, mints that kind of thing.

It might be worth trying an event first. At least that way, you won't have to pay for a membership and you'll get a good feel for whether clubs are for you both.

Email your chosen club and get the correct answer.

We did look through the website but it wasn’t massively clear on what to wear but we might give them a ring to find out if they’re dress down on entry or later on that’s a useful bit of info to know

Some clubs have lousy websites and it's always best to chat beforehand, it's great to break the ice too, each club varies their nights/hosts/dress rules, so badger away and knock'em dead!

We prefer dress down clubs

As someone has said play bag with the essentials in (we have a small keyring clock on ours as we don't wear a watch)

Always ask before touching others

We agree about going on an event night as it'll be busier than normal and if you can cope with that you'll be fine on a non event night (we did it this way)

Go with the idea of a good night out with like minded people and no expectations of playing with others

Have fun

The Attic in Derby is not far from you and requires no membership, just pay on the door. You'll get a tour if it's your first time. It's a take your own alcohol club, buy soft drinks there. Ladies dress as sexy as they dare or a normal night out dress, Men dress smart/casual with no trainers. See their website for more info
