There are a lot of posts regarding missing Unread message, but I think I've sussed it out.
I had a message which I hadn't opened and I've noticed today the person has deleted their account.
Therefore message has gone from inbox and no longer available to access |

We’ve had it where we’ve blocked a profile and then deleted their message as unread and it shows as one message in your mailbox for about 2 weeks before it drops off…it’s happened twice now!
