here there and everywhere

Do you feel that when you chat to someone on here, before the face pic swaps, the voice notes or even the meets, you already have an idea of them in your mind. Have you ever had that and then been totally surprised when their face/voice etc is totally different to expected?

Only once. But that was my fault for not asking for face pics before hand. It was in my early days of here and getting a reply for this lady with the body of a goddess was enough. We quickly arranged to meet and thats when i first saw her face. It wasnt that she wasnt pretty, just nothing like i had imagined i hasten to add

Yes. Think this is a common thing

Yes. Once I've heard someone's voice it's far easier to read their messages in their voice but before then? I guess. I guess really poorly. Always surprised. Sometimes pleasantly.

People are surprised when they hear me the first time; I don't think I look like I sound.

Faces are another yes. Should probably stop filling in the blanks.

I get it alot even in normal life

I had a social last month, met for a coffee. She liked powerful built doms, which is me all over

During our coffee she surprisingly said you aren't a typical dom, trying be to all assertive with her.

I just replied " because I'm a gentleman too"

It’s why we like to start conversations with face pictures.

It’s not for everyone we understand but then we’re not interested in everyone so just avoid us if you’re one of the don’t send them types

Accents usually throw me a bit. I sometimes assume that the person I’m talking to is from the area they’re based in.

When their mind is totally different to how I had presumed - yes. I was very pleasantly surprised

Face pic in first message. That normally sorts the wheat from the chaff 🤓

Everyone does, from viewing someone's profile you have a preconceived idea of them.

I find people's expectations and their thoughts on who you are Vs reality (moreso in men) a bit off-putting.

It's one of the reasons I rarely meet on here, I prefer face to face, real life.

Yes happens all the time. Voices are a big one that's surprising. But also faces can be surprising too. And height, people always seem surprised by how much of a short arse I am IRL, and I'm always surprised by how tall some men are.

And someone can be totally different over DMs than they are on the forums too. I've changed my mind about people a few times after having a proper conversation with them.

Probably yes but as I don't exchange facepics or phone calls before meeting I only have the written word to base those images.

I've never been shocked or overly surprised when meeting someone for the first time and they are generally as I imagined them to be.

Yes, to a certain extent. A pivotal extent in fact: I can quite easily gauge the type of person they are, their traits, their characteristics, demeanour (in general, because demeanour can also be a visual thing) and their general personality. In some of my chats we often talk about our physical features and appearances — sometimes indirectly as when talking about how we groom ourselves and what we wear.

I've never been the one to ask for photos or expect voice notes and therefore a long and protracted conversation over the ether is my comfort zone.

I'm always surprised — pleasantly or unwittingly — when I 'see' them for the first time. We all have our preconceived notions on how they 'could' have looked like versus how they really are.

Yes. Not very accurately, hence I put the onus on them to create a realistic picture, with pics nicked from porn
