"Good afternoon all. I am thinking of booking a vasectomy... i'm slightly concerned about any long term pain thay may occur.
Has anyone had any long term issues or is it plain sailing?

Mr's was very plain sailing! I was terrified for him after hearing and reading horror stories  (I know, never a good idea), but his went impressively well. Couple of days of discomfort and he was fine!  |

No pain and definitely would do it again. One side effect for me and is still there nearly 20 years later is I never get that “empty” feeling anymore after a very satisfying session. Bit embarrassing really  |

I know exactly what you mean about the empty feeling. I'm the exact same. Drove my sex drive through the roof aswell. Also, listen to the doctors advice regarding resting and not lifting heavy objects or you could end up with a blood vessel that refuses to heal inside your scrotum. Speaking from experience |

Had mine around 10 years ago, had all the shit of everyone saying it was gonna hurt n be in pain for week.
All had was some discomfort when it was being done n day later no pain, nothing.
But I did have to ask the guy who done the operation if he was taking the piss by playing the Buzzcocks during the operation. |

I'm one of the unlucky ones i had mine done on the nhs just before lockdown it's left me with what they call pvp (post vasectomy pain) best way to describe it is a constant dull ache but every now and then the dull ache is replace with the feeling of being kicked in the plumbs by a footballer taking a penalty the doctors say the only way to cure it is to have a reversal but its not guaranteed to fix the problem it's had no effect on my sex drive but playing with the balls is now off limits due to the aches and pains |

I had mine under a general anaesthetic, and was sore when I came round. They said I should stay the night, didn’t want to. So I had to walk across the ward and have a wee. I did that and they got me a lift home. The driver was very sympathetic, and was very very slow over speed bumps.
Balls were like a big bruised apple for a couple of days. Still after five kids, I thought it was about time. Yeah it causes some pain and a lot of discomfort. But is nowhere near as bad as it would be for your partner if she was sterilised. |

I would not hesitate in recommending it to any man. It’s very simple procedure done under local anaesthetic. The worst part was having to wear tight pants for several days to keep things in place. Over the counter pain relief was taken as there was some light throbbing but nothing to worry about.
Plus when you have recovered you get the best week or so clearing out your system (25 wanks 🤣) before you have to produce a sample to confirm it’s worked. There have been no side effects at all in fact when I told a regular meet she described me as the wholly grail of fab !! |
