Now, some of us remember the first Internet, you had to listen to it dial up through the phone line and you couldn't stream, you had to download, it could easily take 2 hours for a short clip and 24 hours for a movie.

I was swinging before the Internet, so when I got access to it in 1995/96 on dial up, I searched for what others were doing around the world.
There was something called TGP and AVI galleries, BBS and forums in general was so pupular for discussions, so I looked at all of that.
The pop ups were annoying. You close one and 3 open up forcing a PC restart.
Defragging was a must as a result of surfing so much.
I was strictly amateur and it led me to early British and French stuff which was amazing because it was something I could relate to. A very popular French amateur website is still going sting nad kept to its core values.
As soon as the US got a hold of it and turned out shit porn, I stopped bothering to look at it. |
