Gentleman of Fab land what makes you answer a message that you may have been sent from someone
Are you ever sceptical that they are a genuine person as apparently it’s as rare as hens teeth for the ladies of fab to message first? |

Over the years I have been on here, I think I have had a very small amount of first contact messages from ladies.
The initial reaction is oo, someone is interested, then the why are they messaging me question kicks in, but you read it and reply to the content.

It's not rare for women to message, from experience, but it would be a tad grandiose to expect a cultural shift for more women to send the first message.
What makes me answer their message? It's often what they have written and the way it comes across: a friendly and witty message referencing something from my profile. I'm more likely to respond if they inject sarcasm too. The best messages have been from those who had very little by way of their profile, but the few outlandish words they *had* written were enough for me to prick up my ears and find out more about them.
I won't answer messages from women who send a photo of their quim. Thankfully it's a rare occurrence. |

I reply to every message I get, I mean, it's not like I'm getting bazillions, but I like to keep to my own standards of what I consider polite, no shade to you non repliers out three, you do you and I'll be me |

This. I try be polite. You never know who night message and what connections it might make. Xx
If I don't like the messages I can always block or stop messaging x |

I'll always answer either way. Sure why not. I get a fair few messages in response to forum posts and the odd exploratory post to see if I'm available or interested.
Even it's an obvious scam I'll respond and lead them down the garden path for shits and giggles. Those are rare though and always couples accounts. |

I get a lot of messages from blank profiles, I reply if they have filled out the bio a bit and it sounds interesting, but yeah usually with the attitude that is not going to have a potential meet.
Also get a few just saying “hi x”, and it’s fine at least it’s the go ahead to engage. |

I don’t think it is that rare to get messages from the ladies - you can tell whether it is genuine or not pretty easily. The phrasing’s are just different between a genuine and non genuine message. |
