Nothing like I am now
I was too busy trying to fit in
I was too busy trying to be conventional
In many respects I was a caged bird that didn't sing
I was out of the cage by my early 30's though
The singing followed in my 40's |

"One of my favourite weeknd songs.
What were you like at 28?
Were the same things that were important to you then, important to you now?
Was your personality the same?"
40 years ago lots of things were important to me that aren't so much now. We needed to establish ourselves, buy a house, make sure we had good jobs, stagger along on the bloody treadmill. That all seems like a giant trap we willingly walked in to. If we had our time again we'd probably do things very differently.
Personality is basically the same but I've mellowed.
Obviously I look quite different |

Mr was, by his own admission, a total bellend at 28. At 40 he’s mellowed a lot! He was also married (and a member here) to someone else.
Mrs hasn’t changed much at all. Still strong willed, but maybe her boobs are bigger now |

Did anyone watch the Seven Up series in which they followed a group of children from 7 until the present. Filming took place every 7 years. They're in their late 60s now. The difference from 28 to now is marked |

I remember talking about this in my sociology lessons in school. My teacher talked to us about it and framed it as a longitudinal study. I never watched it all but saw clips online. |
