Today I learned that I'm actually 5'5 and not 5'4 like I've believed for actual decades. I'm shaken with this new information.
What's a surprising thing about yourself that you've learned recently? |

NO WAY. This makes me feel ridiculously better. Especially as we're roughly the same age too. The woman who measured me looked at me with some clear judgement and sort of laughed like, usually people are shorter than they think ... as they age and just generally start to stoop.' AND I DID NOT FEEL ANY BETTER. |

Oh! I found out very recently some more information about my mum's real dad and discovered there's a whole new heritage to add to the very mixed mixed race thing.

My mother told me I was born on Friday the 13th and this was my thing all my life because it's supposedly good luck on that day for you. That's the story she told me anyway and I've always loved it.
I mentioned it recently and she said "no love that was your brother. You were born on a Thursday"

The funny thing is I still think of myself as 5'2", though. It's even on our profile. I have yet to fully accept the reality and embrace the mindset of a slightly less short person. |

Those people that are getting different measurements for height.. you do know your height changes during the day due to gravity so it might down to a timing issue. I thought this was common knowledge  |
