Just seen the story on the beeb about the men b vax which will now be used to vaccinate against Gonorrhea. On the face of it, great news to help reduce record levels of the disease now. Thoughts from a community certainly affected by it? |

The efficacy seems pretty low, but if it helps to reduce infections that's only a good thing.
My concern may be that people who have the vaccine become complacent about the risk of getting gonorrhea when the vaccine is only 30-40% effective, and they are unsure how long that effectiveness lasts.
Be interesting to see how the rollout goes and what the take up is like. |
