AI videos. .do you get fooled?

There's a bunch of fake courtroom videos being spread about diddy, supposedly with prince testifying.

Lots of people think they are real.

Occasionally I'll get sent a clip from one of my parents' old friends, the video will typically show a music audition with crowd footage from x factor or britain's got talent edited in, but the performers aren't real and are a.i generated.

I'm not completely against a.i.

I use an a.i. program to isolate instrument tracks from songs. (Useful for teaching purposes, or when you want to breakdown drum parts, for instance.)

"No it's isn't it's back st the top now.

I don't have much to say on ai, but some of the videos are getting rather good in terms of telling apart. "

Haha

Well thanks for giving the thread the kiss of life.

They are all part of a trend of staged videos showing homecoming heroes, fake outrage, Karen videos etc etc etc.

The difference is that most people are those for what they are but in this case and a lot of stuff involving Trump it's harder to tell the difference.

No charge for the bump😁

I think the worrying aspect is how many people accept the things they see/read uncritically. No matter how ludicrous it is, they accept it must be real. And the onset of AI is making it an even bigger issue as it is harder for people to differentiate what's real and what isn't. It's both brilliant and scary how realistic and convincing some AI generated content can be.

I wish people would engage their brains more, though, and realise not everything they are told or they see online, on TV or in the paper is real. But the insideous nature of social media algorithms do not help.

I love a good homecoming video. And those ones were toddlers hear or see guy the first time.

I don't care if they are fake as long as my tears of joy tell me I'm not dead inside

They have definitely got a lot better, there's normally some giveaway though. Colours always look a bit cartoonist and objects still kind of morph in
