Do you want thanks

Do you want thanks for the job that you do and why do we seem to offer it some more than others?

As an ex serviceman for 23 years it’s amazing how many people say “thank you for your service”, I mean it’s nice but not needed and definitely was never a consideration when I joined that people would thank me

Certain jobs seem to get thanks for what they do where others seem to get none.

Do you stop and say to the postie or the bin collector or anyone else “thank you for what you do”

I feel that every and any job is as equally valuable and important or it wouldn’t be needed in the first place

I get thanked alot in my job and it's appreciated but as you say, I'm getting paid to do it and it's not something i expect people to say.

I don't want thanks for my job but some appreciation from my boss would be nice instead of criticism

I think its out of habbit that people generally saying thank you when you done something nice or respectful for someone. Im a man and van and even though i get paid i mostlly get a thank you for helping people. Personally some jobs i think may not gwt as much appreciation is because people dont realise what that person is doing and it may not always be in public view.generally though i personally do like when someone recognises my work as i take pride in trying to do the best i can for them

I have a job where all my clients ever do is moan …… too expensive ….. too slow…. Too fast….. too much communication…… not enough communication ……. Well, Wikipedia says ……… the one saving Grace is that I have a boss that always makes sure to touch base with each of the team regularly to say thank you 😁

However, I do always make a point of saying thank you to people like checkout folk, servers, postie, bin men, bus drivers etc. ……. I sometimes think they might feel overlooked and undervalued, lurking in the background of our lives

I say thanks to people for the jobs they do for so many reasons. If I appreciate what they do, then I'll say it. That includes cleaners, posties, bin men, delivery drivers, the lot.

I say thank you to people doing their jobs in ways that make my day a little better - whether they are cheerful and chatty, efficient or whatever. I rarely bother if I’m dealing with some morose person treating their job like they’d rather be anywhere else doing anything else.

I always thank my staff as a manager as it's nice to be appreciated but also in everyday life. Someone opens a door for me, a car lets me go, pretty much everyday I thank someone.
