Gentlemen, cads and lotharios...

When you wear jeans or trousers do you wear a belt? If so do you wear it as an fashion accessory or out of necessity? 👖

In the west.

I always wear a belt with jeans, trousers and shorts. It looks untidy otherwise.

I don't feel comfortable or secure without one on jeans or trousers.

It's strange.

Yes I do. I've been referred to as a gentleman three times today, so I will answer on that basis.

I suppose it's not a necessity, but then I honestly can't say it's consciously a fashion necessity either. It somehow just feels more comfortable. Also who knows when you may need whip it off, to carry a bundle of wood for the fire, or some other functional purpose.

Yeah, I wear a belt as I usually have to wear a bigger waist size so it feels comfy on the thighs... Yes, that's a humble brag...

Always wear a belt. Whether is fashion or function depends on how big the trousers are.

I have to wear a trousers suit for work and always wear a belt. I find it looks off otherwise. Also always wear one with jeans.

I sort of feel 'incomplete' or naked with "empty belt buckles". I need to wear a belt. It also makes for a great corset! 😉

I wear a belt out of necessity these days.

I have a hobble belt as my everyday belt, bought for me by the fabulous Julie Scrumptious, as it can easily be converted to a collar and cuffs should she, or I suppose anyone else need to be restrained.

A den in the Glen

I'm built fucking weirdly and jeans to fit my legs means that I am expected to be built like Gio Compario so a belt is necessary to gather in all the excess denim around the waist and form a concertina, pulling the material around my fly like something from a ficking Spandau Ballet video.

Unless I wear Boss jeans. They fit.

Yes, I nearly always wear a belt. Empty belt hooks look bit odd otherwise.

I suppose the only time I might not is if it's shorts and a t-shirt is untucked so covering up the hooks?!

I also like how belts look and can actually make an outfit, if you don't mind me going all Gok Wan for a second. I like my collection of belts, though I tend to stick with my old favourite which has now got a really nice lived-in look and the leather's become nice and soft...

(This might be one of my longest ever posts, which I appreciate is probably disproportionate!)

At a very young age my Grandfather told me “never trust a man who doesn’t wear a belt”

That stuck with me to this day.

Always wear a belt, it’s the punctuation to trousers.

I wear a belt out of necessity, the styles of cut these days seem to mean that although they appear to fit quite well, after an hour or so they start to migrate down my backside.

I always wear a belt. Mostly for function - I lost a bit of weight recently. Also because I like understate accessories. I have a lovely dark brown leatheer belt which was made efor me by a saaddler it fits just right.

On the subject of fit, I gather that if you wear bespoke suits you do not wear a belt. Why? Well the trousers are tailored to fit you and don't need a belt to hold them up.

ps. thee bron belt has.. other uses...

I wear an every day belt to keep my trousers up as my butt isn't big enough , when I'm at work I wear a broad belt to protect my back and when I'm having sex with my partner she wears a broad belt with cut out for my hands so I can get a good hold on her although she says she would prefer a harness, she does enjoy the thrusting

If I’m in work I have to wear smart trousers ie suit pants and so the belt is more for fashion than necessity, if I’m wearing jeans it’s for necessity then

Read the whole thread. Was hoping for at least one detailed explanation that the wearing of a belt is solely for it to be removed. Anyone spend more time with a belt wrapped around a hand than their waist?

No. It’s for wrapping around *her* wrists. Not my own.

Or looping around the back of her neck to pull her in closer …

Not many sounds build more tension than the sound a belt makes when I man pulls it out of the loops… before folding it in the palm of his hand… followed my the sound of a thwak, which usually results in the lady making a sound of anticipation…
