I’m not new here, but probably naive and have never really taken my time to learn how it all works.

If someone reads a message but doesn’t delete it or reply, does it mean they’re going to reply at some point? I understand women probably get hounded non stop so it may take time to reply

We have two messages from 5 years ago in our inbox, we won't be replying to them. When you send a message it's best to forget about it and not check if it's been deleted. If they want to reply they will do.

Fair enough, I’m just pretty logical so can’t get my head round why it would be left there. Thanks for the advice

Just bad manners , don't take it personally..

I always reply to every message I get even if it's a no from me..

We are all built differently don't forget..

Brush it off and crack on...

Thanks. I don’t take it personally. I’m not even arsed if they just delete it, at least I get the message that way

Carlisle usually

It means it was read and left. Like the pile of unsolicited leaflets for political parties and antique fairs and takeaways that builds up on the dresser beside the front door until I get around to actually clearing it all out 💜

.

Delete your sentbox. It will stop you from looking and wondering and free up your headspace so you're happier when someone does reply.

Doesn't matter cant block distances

I respond to messages that fit what I've wasted my time putting in my profile

otherwise I don't reply to those who are just messaging to gallery wank, incompatible or illiterate.

I try to get back to those that seem a mutual match

They’re going to reply. Keep it in hope that it’ll be soon. Check every day.

It doesn't mean anything, except that it's not deleted. You can't interpret it by trying to infer anything, except for that you are wasting your time.

After sending it, ignore the message and who you've sent it to. Move on.

Only put any further attention, if and when you get a reply. Cast your net broadly.

Do you pause and reflect on the junk mail and all the effort that went into that effort to go in the bin?!?!?

Yeah, neither do I .

Hi OP, I think it's wasted effort to ruminate about messages that are unread, read or deleted.

When you send a message just delete it from your Sent Folder.

Instead, focus on the replies.
