Hello my fellow nerds of the Fab of Swing (sorry about that thought it was funny) what would you say you most 'nerd' about. With us both its the paranormal, gaming (both video and board), anime and reading. Separately with me is history (specialising in Warfare, both World Wars, social, medieval and ancient history) Comics, Wrestling and Football. With her its languages, fashion (Alt and gothic), Cooking (she has allergies so like's to adapt recipes so we can both eat tasty things)and baking. Looking forward to seeing the replies to this x |

Love so much of what you've both suggested x
For me it's Anime, Manga, Board and Card games along with video games..
Also Myths and Legends and the supernatural.. definitely some wrestling in there too  |

I’m a gamer, PC mostly, I love science fiction and comic book stuff - I’m a huge fan of music, predominantly pop punk, I adore the band blink 182 and play guitar - I have the lead guitarists guitar. I know an absurd amount about guitars too - I love history, mostly WW2 stuff (my grandad flew a Spitfire in the RAF) im kind of a conspiracy theorist, adore anything to do with aliens and I have had a crush on Rogue and Mystique from the X-Men since I was about 10 - to this day I call people “Sugar” affectionately because Rogue always did. Yeah I’m a dork lol 😂 |

Cool my great grandad was a desert rat in WW2 working with the ANZACS. He got quite well up in the army for a NCO but a lot of stuff I don't know hence I'm looking into it now. Comic book wise my crushes always be Michelle Pfeiffer portrayal of Catwoman and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn and gaming wise Panam from Cyberpunk come on you have sex in a tank, A BLOODY TANK !!!!!!!!! |

Watcher - oh I’m a tart for a period drama, a good fantasy costume or something dark and gritty. A recent love for anime, animated series too.

Movies/TV - Sci-fi, Fantasy, Anime
Comic books - Misses all about DC, I used to a 2000AD/Dredd the megazine reader.
Games - Mostly Playstation, TTRPGs, Boardgames
Love science, documentaries, debates history of all sorts.
Distinctly nerdy household, and enjoy lifelong learning

Aww cool nice to see a fellow animal lover. we like this never stop learning and improving yourself saying that we prefer watching something with historic context then period drama's we both loved Pillars of the Earth, World without End, Last Kingdom (Gf wants me to cosplay as uthred make of that of what you well) and Vikings. Need to show her Band of Brothers, The Pacific etc. |

Lol She actually seen me do HEMA aka fight with swords it hurts but its fun I'm her bear even thou I taught her how to protect herself. Yep also learning martial arts is on my list. |

HEMA hurting? Sounds like someone needs to update their gear or your opponents need to work on their control.

reckon we could fall under the nerd category.batman fan,loves tech,home assistant and home automation is just too cool when combined with esp8266 and esp32 boards.enjoying retro gaming and making a little arcade cabinet to play some of the classics on.mrs loving her diamond painting and is a pokemon fan and loves fantasy and supernatural style books.we recently did some of these minature house and book nooks,they look pretty good but so fiddly. |

I'm most nerdy for music. Most rock/pop from 60s right through to now. I collect vinyl.
Outside this i love the MCU. Up to speed with most of it.
Casual gamer - PS5 (PSN name AdyColclough). Don't really do "real" games like call of.duty, etc but I did really enjoy the last of us. Huge fan of the Life Is Strange series. Suppose I love story driven games. Been a ratchet and clank fan since the PS2 era.
Got a fondness of C64/ZX Spectrum days from the 80s.
Film wise I like all sorts. Sci fi, action, horror, comedy etc. Star Trek over Star Wars. |

Depending on what you're interested in
Kendo, Iaido, Fencing, HEMA, SCA, Bohurt.
There are clubs in the South West.
A plastic HEMA practice long sword is relatively cheap. The sort of footwork drills etc in martial arts can help with clumsiness.
That said, if you just fancy running around like a loon bopping people with fake swords there's always LARPing |
