Shorter answer is "money".
Same reason when something is successful, corporate interests will try and pull as many sequels out of it as they can.
Also why you'll see look-a-like products appearing everywhere.
Happens is movies, TV, video games, music, and novels.
Developing new properties is higher risk. So they'll take existing successful properties and squeeze them 'til they squeak, people get bored or the concept jumps the shark and dies.
Same reason why studios have been trying to hide streaming profits and numbers so they can get away with not paying residuals to actors.
Same reason Spotify crucifies a lot of performing artists and they're constantly having to diversify to make a living.
Same reason companies are trying to use AI to steal from, screw over, underpay and replace writers, actors, and voice actors.
Big companies aren't interested in actually being creative and holding the viewing public and actual artists in contempt.

Look, live action Disney remakes are nothing new.
Nobody remember the live action 101Dalmatians that came out nearly 30 BLOODY YEARS AGO!?
