A subject close to my heart this one..
From the following list below if you had to choose only 1 give me your favourite bar snack in a good old fashioned UK pub 😁
Pickled Egg
Scampi Fries
Twiglets
Bacon Fries
Dry Roasted Nuts
Salted Nuts
Pork Scratchings
Crisps
Scotch Eggs

On the point of Scotch eggs the Alexandra Hotel in Derby used to do a selection of beautiful Scotch eggs including black pudding and sweet chilli. We would pop in for an egg and and an ale on the way to The Attic. Sometimes enjoying it so much in there we'd nearly forget to go to The Attic (terible swingers). Unfortunately they lost contact with the guy who made them durring the Pandemic. So more sadly  |

Agreed. It's not so much a matter of price (some expensive ones can be disappointing). Just like quality ingredients, flavour and not dry. Also we have a soft spot for ones with a gooey yoke. There's a tearooms just outside of Rugby which do amazing ones. I think the lady who runs the place sprinkles a little magic in everything she does. |

I’ve been known to stop at a supermarket and then buy a bag of crisps in the pub and break the egg into pieces and add to the crisps, if you add dry roasted peanuts or even better Sahara nuts it’s snack heaven |
