Remember Chester had a massive gay community in the 70's and 80's, and in the late 80's the council took the licences of both gay nightclubs. As a result, the community moved to Manchester and took the pink pound and all the life and culture they brought to Chester.

We have lots of friends and family who were Chester nightlife scene in the 70's to 90's, and it was a big thing at the time as Chester had a great nightlife. When they closed the clubs, pub and bar owners were up in arms as the pink pound brought in lots of money.
