Wild Border Country of Herts & Middx !

A slightly off-beat one for me.

There is a superb track on Pet Sounds called "I Know There's An Answer". The arrangements are truly magnificent.

Fabio, we've finally found common ground! One of my top 10 albums easily.

I love his solo version of Love and Mercy.

The fact there are so many to choose from speaks volumes. Incredible harmonies.

Off the top of my head: Good Vibrations, God only knows and I get around

In truth … “Good Vibrations” it’s a winner when it first came out I remember being absolutely mesmerised by the sound, but then later finding out who were the backing musicians ( called the wrecking crew )a list of musical royalty ! Which was something else! It was one of the very first multi tracks of multi tracks which made it incredibly special

Safe onward journey Brian !

When he started recording again in the 90s he made an album with Don Was called I Just Wasn't Made for These Times, mostly new versions of older songs. His voice was weak compared to the 60s but this actually gives the songs more emotional depth after everything he'd been through. Highly recommended.

Hard to choose just one.

Sloop John B. was always up there for me. "Let me go home, I wanna go home / this is the worst trip I've ever been on..."

So many amazing songs.

I actually prefer Sunflower and Surfs Up to Pet Sounds (though it’s an amazing album). I think my favourite song is the title track from the latter.

I am old enough to remember Dad's big old Gramophone in the lounge with Valves and knobs to find MW, SW and LW radio stations, You'd stack about 10 45s on the turn table and Good vibrations was always in that 10 along with Barbara Ann.

They'd slap down 1 by 1. You'd hear the crackle and hiss and then belt it out as loud as you could. No wonder the valves packed up in the end.

Lady Lynda, at the time I was seeing a girl called Linda and it is a happy memory. The intro is a classic piece of music btw, based on "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by J. S. Bach.

A most remarkable film .. Harrison Ford ‘s first film role I believe and others

Great film of its day but has an innocence of tomorrow

I remember loving the Chuck Berry inspired Surfin USA.

I would sing " if everybody had a notion, across the Usa" until a pal pointed out the opening line is ; " if everybody had an ocean"

Still a fab tune
