Why do so many people thrive on being so? I don't actually mean expressing their values and beliefs. We all have those of course but is that obvious hunger to deliberately create conflict, often throwing the grenade and sitting back and rejoicing at their work that I don't understand. There used to be one or two well known for that but actually it is the ones who try and do it rather very subtly and mischievously that I am mostly refering to. Often revisiting controversial subjects for their amusement. So who would have tomato ketchup on their bacon sandwich? |

Without wishing to sound controversial, but (a)as I'm a veggie / pescatarian so would not eat a bacon sandwich, but, and (b) speaking hypothetically, if I were not I'd definitely not put salted butter on my bacon sandwich, it would have to be unsalted butter, the sweetcreamy blandness is a counter to the already salty bacon |

To be fair I would have no butter at all, and sometimes a drop of brown but that is all. |

I always have ketchup on my vegan bacon... And it has to be in shitey-slicy-whitey bread - squished and cut in half
As to controversy - boredom, superiority, jealousy, addressing the eejits, just an all round knob... Thousands of motivations 😆 |

Some people crave attention I guess. There is someone we know who does this exact move on social media. He will throw a controversial comment on local FB pages then sit back and watch the drama without commenting further. It's quite sad and I just avoid it.

Hand grenade posters.
Happens on here a fair bit too. It can take a bit of practice not to bite, but often for the best.

The ability to simply scroll on by and respect the opinions of others seems to be a lost art, which plays wonderfully in to the hands of the hand grenade lobbers.
If you want to go for your bacon butty prepared with red, brown, salted, unsalted, crispy, floppy, white, wholemeal, sliced, plastic, artisan hand harvested spelt flour plaited baked in a sustainable wood fired oven, or whatever, then do so, enjoy and allow others to enjoy theirs.
Even if they are wrong.

I like ketchup on my sandwich.
Ketchup from the fridge.
To be honest I speak my mind I'm quite blunt that's just me, but also polite (I think) some things I'll scroll past because my response wouldn't be welcomed but sometimes I will think fuck it and comment my view anyway, just because others may not like it doesn't make it less valid, we should all be able to speak our minds without worry of what someone else may think.

I reckon it's mostly attention seeking and a front because they're not otherwise interesting enough to grab people's attention on other ways.
Oh, and this might be controversial, but chuck out the bacon and go for a sausage cob instead 🤌 |

They probably need compassion but it's nobody's job to give them that, for their deficiencies. Emotionally controlling people aren't healthy to be involved with. They'll gravitate to forums and situations where they can try to exert their power.
You may have had a great, intelligent point and they'll try to demean you and it. Let your point stand and walk away. They will probably die, without ever changing
Ketchup for me. All's good |

"Come the revolution, there will be no ketchup on bacon sandwiches. Or bacon. Or bread.
Soylent Green will be widely available, though, so it's not all doom and gloom."
I went to school with Soylent Green, but he was in the top set, the posh twat |
