What's the biggest BS excuse?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Of the last 5 meets I've arranged, 4 have cancelled! These were the 2 best, last minute excuses, of the bunch......
1) I hit snooze too many times and have slept in.
2) The only time I can get dinner in the Hotel is during our meet, and my work pay for it.
Whats the biggest BS excuse you've been given by someone who cancelled? |

I generally don’t hear the excuse OP. It always sounds like blah blah blah when it’s a last minute cock and bull story.
The only thing I can suggest is to block. Say fuck em and move on with your day. If they have that kind of excuse just think how shit the sex would’ve been 😘 |

Great advice, thank you. *whispering, still trying to not feel like an asshole for showering, shaving, moisturising, painting my nails, looking out clothes and believing they were genuine |

Never had anyone give an excuse they just didn’t show.
They get blocked after that so even if they had an excuse it’s too late,
You’d think with Wi-Fi and mobile phones they would at least send a message to say why they can’t make it, even if it’s 5 minutes before the meet |

Not an excuse for not showing , more someone showing how unreasonable they were when I informed them I couldn't meet last minute.
They took the hump that I would leave work and blocked me.... Bullet dodged imo.
Oh.. and there no acceptable excuse for giving excuses like the ones above. The only thing more insulting is the paltry excuses which as expected to be believed. |

I had two great meets with someone. Arranged another one and then she described how she was shitting through the eye of a needle. Made sure she was on the mend and feeling better a little ghosted on the messages. She suggested another meet up a couple of weeks after she was better and then she was evasive on when and where to meet and now she's completely ghosted me |

Not weird on their own, but the fact we organised a GB, and two of the participants daughters ended up in a&e, and another two had engine trouble. Statistically me thinks they were telling porkies |

A meet disclosed this after I landed into her city on the train. I was there for work too and had a hotel so all was well after a few drinks, strategically located towels and a devil may care attitude. Was a second meet though and wasn't all jackhammer piv either. A memorable night |

No fun ones for cancelling, I've just been blocked a couple of times...As for me I've never cancelled a meet but my first ever one I was so nervous I couldn't get hard and embarrassingly tried to make some awful excuse that I just more of a giving kind of person (which I am but who doesn't like having the favour returned!) |

The excuse I'm going to use next is "Sorry I couldn't make it but I was too busy knocking one out over Polly Polly's nipples poking through her sweater photo." Surely that's a good enough and legitimate excuse? |

I still have tests and they're given out, when boosters are given too. The ones from early in the pandemic are probably out of date now.
I had one excuse about having a Probation Officer appointment and he'd had to delete his data |

Omg I had that. I had booked us a hotel room for our second meet, but then his sister went out and left him with the aged dog so he couldn’t come. And weirdly the next day he got a new veri - totally unrelated I’m sure 🙄 |

I’ve had “I couldn’t come because my mum hurt her knee” then as daft as I am I rearranged for another time and guess what. No show and I kid you not when I asked what the reason was I was told “my mums knee was bad again”
I laugh about it now but still strikes me as an extremely odd thing to say. lol. |

That is shocking. That’s different level shit that. What kind of a person would say that. Makes my “my mums got a bad knee” pale into insignificance! |

When I (Luke) was with a previous partner, we had a threesome lined up. The day before the meet, my partner came down with some terrible infection that hospitalised her. She told the lady this and we couldn't meet as planned. The lady thought it was BS and told us as much and that was the lady contact we had with her, sadly.
So just as a word of caution, sometimes crazy excuses can actually be true. In our case it was genuine and my partner nearly died.
Just some food for thought. |

I was stood up once on another app. I arrived to the bar of the hotel where he was apparently staying in for a social meet.
I text him "I'm here now"
His reply "I'm so sorry, I'm a doctor & I've got an emergency call to go to" He previously told me he worked in retail
So I text & say "You're not a doctor" He then tells me "I'm married & I just can't do it to my wife"
He told me he was single previous to this. Turns out imo the 'guy' was probably not even at the hotel & he was just playing games........
After all that a few weeks later he contacts me & asks will I meet him again
The Block Button Was Hit By Me after I asked "are you for real, nobody gets 2nd chances". |

They had family commitments, then put a veri up of the meet they decided to have on the same day we had arranged.
Oh you don't meet smokers ( their fab account said both were non smokers ) we both smoke. That was 2 hours before the meet. |

I've never had a no show but I've been Plan B on 2 occasions.
The first told me at lunchtime on the day of the meet that she had a lot of business meetings that day and was running late but she would confirm before I left work so that I didn't have to drive in the opposite direction.
I heard nothing so I went home and 5 minutes before the previously agreed meeting time I got a message to say she wouldn't be able to make it due to work issues.
Next day she had 2 new verifications. One from a lunchtime quickie and another that specifically mentioned the coffee shop we were to meet in and claiming it was planned weeks in advance.
That told me she had deliberately double booked and I was a backup.
The second time was a woman who complained loudly in the forums about being stood up constantly.
I got in touch, arranged to meet for coffee when she was staying in an hotel 10 minutes from where I worked later that week.
I made contact that morning to confirm and she claimed to have no memory of having agreed to meet because she wouldn't have time as she was there for non fab reasons and had a very busy schedule.
I didn't push it and went home after work.
Next morning she had a shiny new verification from a well known forum using couple.
I'm not surprised she was constantly stood up if that was her USP and her memory was so bad. Maybe she hadn't been stood up at all and had just forgotten where she was to meet them.

This time last year we were arranging to meet a single bloke. During the build up, we’d been swapping saucy messages between the 3 of us and all was looking good. On the morning of the meet, we got a message saying he’d been throwing up all night and had gone down with sunburn. Later that day, he published a veri from a meet the day before. Being curious, we had a quick look and the woman involved had published a picture from the day of their meet. Her back looked really red and sunburned, so we believed him.
We carried on talking and arranged another meet. Suddenly, complete radio silence, until a message out of the blue some six weeks later. He’d been nicked in London during the riots last August over the Southport murders and shipped up to a prison in Hull. We let him know at this point that some things just aren’t meant to be. |

I've also been double booked. Never had an explanation, she just went offline 20 mins before, back online 4 hours later, displayed a glowing verification that also referenced the unusually hot weather that day.
I never followed up as I'm not desperate enough to be anyone's plan B (Except Alex Kingston😍) |

Well firstly family in need is more important than random website strangers and secondly the whole point of an an emergency is it's unplanned for. Maybe the sister was off out for a last minute social and needed a dog sitter.? |

We will have to disagree on this, I wouldn't call watching your sisters dog for a couple of hours whilst she goes out, an emergency.

He and his children had been ill for a week and couldn’t move.
Didn’t get in touch to tell us, until we got in touch with him leading up to meeting.
Little did he know that we put people on our hotlist when we are chatting/meeting and we could see he’d been on FAB continuously
Much prefer honesty - you know where you are then.

Well they couldn't meet on the day because a cold sore they had hadn't quite cleared up...why they actually didn't mention this before I don't know..then when I agree another day I ask about said cold sore they don't mention it...so next they say they may have to work the day we've organised that's ok I say the day after... suddenly an injured dog appears on the scene that has a bad leg and needs looking after... like the cold sore nothing was mentioned previously despite the dog apparently visiting the vets a few days before...a daughter was meant to be looking after the dog but she's had to go back to uni...the son apparently now has to work so he can't do it... there's far too much effort been put into the story I know it's a crock of shite...and they know I know... next I get a photo of a dog with it's leg wrapped up....no seriously I'm not making this up... only it's very unlike any vetanarians bandage.. looks just like a bit of cloth...it's probably the best time waster I've ever had.. |
