A partner that has an uncontrollable desire to be in charge of my time, behaviour, thoughts and every move? I'd rather be the last surviving member of the human race and wonder the waste lands of the planet for all eternity...ALONE! 🚶♂️🏜 |

"What do you mean by possessive, OP? possessive"
I mean, are you talking about not wanting your man to go down the strippers with the lads, or being jealous of everyone they talk to? What level of possessive? |

Very much depends on what you define as possessive.
Trying to control what I wear, who I speak to or prevent me from going out with my mates. Most definitely not hot.
However, possessive as in in a sexual primal way on occasion is very hot indeed. |

That’s up to you. I’m not defining it for you, you can tell me what level of it is hot or not. Btw, I don’t think a partner should have an issue with you going to see a stripper or talking to someone |

Do you like the idea of your partner being yours? |

There is no such thing as levels to possessiveness...a person is either possessive or not...possessiveness has more to do with the attitude you approach to a subject. To take your own example...your partner might not be ok with you going to a strip club...it might be a boundary within the relationship and she can approach that in a mature way ..."I'm sorry but I'm not ok with you always going to the strip club with your friends, it's just something I'm not compatible with in a relationship"... or she can be possessive about it and say "you're not going anywhere! If you go to that strip club you're gonna fucking regret it!" . Most people that are possessive will use being protective or concerned as an excuse, and that's how they manage to manipulate their partners |

Ohhhh that’s a whole different question to me with my BDSM head on Yes I do. I don’t think that’s possessive, though? |

That’s monogamy though, not possessiveness (if I’ve interpreted your comment correctly) |

I should have scrolled up before answering Guess what, I agree with this! Controlling vs control which is handed over. The first is not hot, the second is very hot. It’s a fine line to tread though and you have to be careful who you’re giving control to. |

It’s subjective, isn’t it? I don’t tend to think in binary, I think most people are shades of grey rather than this or that, possessive or not. I think it can stem from lack of trust or insecurity and that can lead people to behave in a possessive way. Absolutely agree that some people will justify possessive behaviour as protective in order to manipulate their partner. |
