Things you'd save in a fire?
Jump to: Newest in thread
Firstly, happy Friday folks:
For those working, I feel your pain.
For those not, enjoy.
So,just as the title says. Your place is on fire you know you've got to evacuate quickly!
What are you going to save and if you feel like explaining, why those items?

"Everything is insured although there’s a couple of guitars that are limited editions that would have to be grabbed on the way out "
Defo worth saving.
I have a hand made one with a striking painting on the back. I'd maybe try and save that. It's a bit knackered but one of a kind. |

"Oh my hockey jerseys! Although I’ve 80+ of them so most will have to be left
80+ that's impressive!
I’m terrible with money so my savings account hangs in my wardrobe 🫣"
Oh well if they make you happy.
Do you wear them? |

I wonder if our furry friends would try and wake us up.
Mine would… clever Mog
Mog definitely deserves an Extra treat.
You hear so many stories of animals saving the day!"
Naughty Torties are especially clever |

Your grandson must be a strapping lad to carry all that lot out |

My mam's house did burn. What I learnt make digital copies of old photos and put on a cloud. She was in the house when it caught fire. Things she needed, phone, car keys and wallet if like her you don't have your card on your phone. Else you won't be eating or drinking without help. Also helps if you have your passport and driving licence ect. And if like her you don't renew your insurance online (grrrr) but on the phone your policy numbers etc.

"Bank card
Passport
Telephone
Few treasured pics
Car keys
"
A sensible list, but are they all in the same place (easy to find)? Remembering the house is on fire!
It's a tough one, I don't care about most of the "stuff" it's insured and is replaceable (in fact, it would be nice to replace some of it).
But then there is the save life being a pain list (as above), but even more importantly stuff from the kids, family mementoes, some OOAK artwork etc.
Never going to save everything that's important. That's why it's such a devastating event.
Ultimately as long as everyone gets out safe, that's a win, anything else is a bonus. |

"As someone who lost everything a couple of years ago (yes literally everything) I’d save my loved ones. Everything else is replaceable. "
It's awful, I didn't really appreciate the upheaval it creates. My Mam was out of her home for a year as they sorted it out. Hope you're all settled now |

"Nice ass….
I I started again once, and most of my stuff is all replaceable. It’s a matter of getting out!
Why thank you kindly
At the end of the day life is the one but is there nothing at all?"
I’d like to think I could grab some things people gave me that mean some to me.
I have a newspaper that can’t be replaced I suppose, that’s also highly flammable. Haha |

I have a few antiques but I doubt I’d be hanging around to lift any of those out, when it comes too it you just need to get yourself out of there so that someone else isn’t having to put themselves at risk to save you. |

Is the fire extinguisher to pit the fire out....sounds daft even as I say it
Surely it would be |

My dog, my memory box, a necklace that has sentimental value and my phone. Not particularly bothered about anything else. Maybes my laptop if I had time, to save hassle for work on Monday morning 😂 |
