couple, us we him her.

I hate waste, and throwing good stuff away but sadly for many things eventually they have to get binned.

However occasionally some things can be repurposed for an entirely different use, in a recent search looking for a campsite we found one that is using old washing machine drum's as fire pits, ingenious and actually pretty cool looking.

Have you got/seen anything that's found a new life as something completely different?

La la land

Gosh everything in my house and garden is either old or repurposed.

When we moved in here the former owners left the rubble of their old extension at the back of the garden. Their bricks have been used to make the veg beds, the left branches of tress are flower bed edging. The tires left been turned into tire swings for the kids. Slabs have gone around the chicken coop to stop the foxes. Pallets are now wood storage. The list is endless, grew up on a farm make do and mend is in the genes.

Mr N is the king of repurposing. To name but two of his ingenious reinventions:

The table in the greenhouse is an old front door with the space where the glass was cunningly adapted to fit an old glass recycling container to hold compost.

An old tool trolley box is now a plant container and climbing courgettes grow up an old garden gate.

Worthing

Old coffee table. Dismantled and used as 'slats' to fix garden seat, made a computer monitor plinth and keyboard sliding shelf. Still have some bits left and will keen.

I find upcycling very rewarding. I like finding old frames for cheap and repainting them to use for my art, and I've been known to buy old cheap furniture and repaint it with completely different colours to breathe new life into it.

For years my grandma had a soap dispenser in her bathroom that was an old olive oil bottle

Hahahaha I love that

I’ve always said one day I’m going to get some fancy fully labelled soap dispensers for mayonnaise and ketchup in the kitchen. A slightly unhinged condiment would continue the family tradition

Haha, yes, I have a vast collection of home made sex toys, predominantly "Flildo's" (dildo's with floggers on the other end). I make them during my tea breaks at work from anything I find that can be repurposed. Mainly rubber gasket materials, stainless ball bearings, cutting of tube, straps from head torches etc. Pretty much everything is fair game and seen as a challenge to create a usable sex toy - with some very satisfying results!!!
