I have been in many forums and seen many profiles, but I still cant understand why some people dont seem to be able to follow simple rules. Person above means the last person not some random person etc. Discuss |

It's always been this way on internet forums, eventually someone will break the chain because they want to reply to a friend or be thirsty at someone.
Most times its the same 4-5 people but milage may vary. |

You are right and is annoying , disrespectful and sometimes upseting to the other person. Occasionally it happens accidentally if people post at the same time. Sometimes I break the new chain myself to go back to the person that was skipped, especially if I think was done deliberately. |

Sometimes I think the rules should be broken depending on how they're presented. For instance, if a thread title has "COUPLES ONLY!!!" then the shouty demand deserves to be ignored.
But yeah, unfortunately you can't name and shame but it's always the same profile(s) replying to females only with what they consider flirting but I find to be laughably cringe-worthy. |

It doesn’t quite work on FAB fora, but if you look at the structure of forums threads and replies, people can reply to threads and reply to replies etc it’s a recursive data structure.
Many fora now list posts by relevance or popularity ( number of sub threats,) not by time., so the whole concept of the post above is meaningless.
Generally, I ignore rules on things like this. I will post or reply to the nice woman only - this being an exception I’m feeling generous! |

But maybe they are laughing at you when they are balls deep in clunge and you’re debating whether Bunty should marry Robbie in EastEnders or confirming what you had for your tea dinner…. |

"Plus in time it takes for someone to reply to the person above, someone else may be doing the same faster. 🤷♂️"

Agreed. Sometimes best intentions can fail at the initial hurdle: recently a man created a thread asking for profile advice. The first two posters ridiculed him. I offered him a few pointers whilst acknowledging the unhelpfulness of the previous two posters.
Unfortunately I took so long writing my reply and subsequently two women had already posted before me. They assumed I was referring to them as the previous two (unhelpful) posters.
They took umbrage and blocked me. |

Saved by the bell then and I did see that thread by the way and your cimments were indeed trying to help the OP.
Seriously though nobody is forcing anyone to participate in any thread not to their liking. Lots of people enjoy the light hearted threads especially if new to the forum or a little nervous. The threads the OP is referring to are asking people to do something with poster directly above and that is the nature of that thread and should be respected and not chasing specific individuals. I often see comments from both men and women saying are not using the forum much because of the behaviour of those individuals. Is all about respect for other people who also feel the need to be included imo. But what do I know, I mainly want to know what you had for dinner or if you bake cakes |

Not judging by their verifications that are all group socials and not one from fucking . . . Are Robbie and wellhard still in EastEnders? Surely the dog's dead by now? 🤔. Today I'm having cajun style pork loin chops with mash potatoes and mixed veg. |

When guys do that it helps us out because it demonstrates what a poor grasp of rules and consent they have, which means they'd be more likely to ignore rules and boundaries when playing because they feel them stupid. |

I’ll be honest sometimes when I’ve been taking part in the “poster above” threads by the time I’ve pressed “post message” there have been a couple of people who have posted while I’ve been typing.
If you mean the “send xyz to person above” thats the reason I don’t take part. |

Thats a very good point and a great extra level of filtering. |
