Any one else been to Krakow in Poland?
I'm there now, it has rained nearly every day I have been here, but it hasn't put me off. Beautiful City so much history. Done a few excursions, tours etc. The Old Jewish Square is amazing. |

"I have and absolutely loved every minute of it such a beautiful city with so many cool things to do. If you haven’t already been recommend going to the salt mines"
Yes done salt mines absolutely amazing. To think ordinary people working the mines could produce such a beautiful spectacle |

1 more thing I want to do before I leave on Monday is, the Eagle Pharmacy. Apparently the owner and his staff, were Polish Catholics, but they worked together to help the Jews in anyway they could. Only Pharmacy in the Gettho. Serving something in the region of 20,000 Jews. I went earlier in the week, and sods law, I went the day it was closed. |

I just got back from spending a few days there a couple of weeks ago! It was amazing weather and absolutely loved it. I stayed in Old Town and was amazing at how traditional everything still look while still having a very modern and touristy vibe to it. |

Well I'm off home this morning. Throughly enjoyed my week here. Went to:
Salt mines. Absolutely stunning.
Auswitch death camp. Very sad and sombre place. Not a bird in the sky, but a must see.
Oskar Schindlar factory. Well worth the visit, but go for a guided tour, as their knowledge is priceless.
Castle, and Dragon tour. Very interesting, even saw the dragon breath fire.
Took a tour round the city on an electric buggy (make sure you agree fare with driver before setting off)
Walked around the old Jewish Square, very interesting.
Joseph 12. A place that featured in the film Shindlars list. Most enlightening.
Heroes Square. This is where the selection process took place. Left = transportation, right = workforce etc.
Eagle pharmacy. Ordinary Poles, owner and staff helped and hid Jews from the Nazi's.
Underground museum. This is situated under the main square, and contains stuff from as far back as the 12th century. Very interesting.
Countless Church's. All over the place. Most beautiful.
Beer and food. The wide range of food was exceptional, and reasonably priced, even in the City centre, but obviously a bit cheaper the farther away you got from the centre. Beer prices ranged from in my experience 20-25zl = £4-£5 in the Irish Bars, and a few Restaurants. Found 1 bar where it was 10zl = £2, for 400ml Just under a pint) but the bar I used the most was a cella bar called Free (on the corner of the main square), where I was paying 12zl = £2.50ish for a pint.
Even managed 2 meets for fun while here aswel.
Will certainly be back very soon.
Also found 2 Irish bars. I know they are all over the world, but being Irish, I had to pop in.

Glad you had a great time OP and it sounded like you fitted a lot in! I was there for 3 nights and did the Auschwitz tour which was my main reason for going as well as the salt mine which was a lot cooler than I thought it would be! I'd definitely go again and maybe for a bit longer next time. |

I adore Krakow. So much history.
I really enjoyed visiting the pharmacy under the eagle in the old Jewish ghetto. It was so informative. I go there every time I visit Krakow and do a little more research. |

I think I felt like that. I went only wanting to do one thing and left feeling I missed out on so much! |
