I read crime fiction, can’t remember the last time I read something that wasn’t 😄

I’m currently reading the detective Kelly Porter series by Rachel Lynch and they’re pretty good.

All the detective Lottie Parker books by Patricia Gibney are good as well…….there are loads more authors I like as well such as Helen Phifer, Lisa Regan, Angela Marsons and Rita Herron xx

My favourite author is Alan Moore.

'The Watchmen' and 'Killing Joke' are two amazing pieces of literature.

I think if a book is good enough they'll make a film from it.

I'll wait for the film. 😆

I’m reading the Steve Kavanagh crime thrillers (with a bit of courtroom drama thrown in.)

It’s like if Jack Reacher was an ex-conman turned lawyer. Great reads.

Love everything Stephen King, Richard Laymon and Nicci French too.

Favourite is Along Came a Spider (don't bother with the film) and the rest of the Alex Cross series by James Patterson.

Currently enjoying The Nick Stone series by Andy McNab.

Also enjoy sports biographies, and human trait sort of things like The Chimp Paradox, Have You Eaten Grandma? and other fairly geeky titles.

Do love Historical Fiction so Bernard Cornwell and the Sharpe and Last Kingdom series absolutely up there as favourites, but one that slightly tops it for me, Angus Donald and his Outlaw Chronicles, Robin Hood set against real events of the Third Crusade and beyond has to be my favourite book series.

Then my geekier side, Alan Moore, Killing Joke and Watchmen are a couple of amazing stories that because they are Graphic Novels probably don't quite get enough of a shout amongst most literature.

Carlisle usually

My favourite book is Perdido Street Station by China Mieville.

My partner is borrowing it and reading on his lunch breaks at the moment and I fucking loved how into it he is and all the questions about the world. I'll have to give it yet another read when he's finished.

I don't think I have a preferred genre. It can be anything as long as it grips me the right way. That can be sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, crime, smut or romance. An absorbing world and an interesting take on something is what tends to attract me 💜

All over

I have recently paused reading much or at least reading new books but revisiting some older ones as sorting out all the books I have.

However, My Name is Emilia del Valle and also Show Don't Tell are two more recent ones

I delved in. The former is very engaging story telling and vivid historical detail and really enjoyed. The latter by Curtis Sittenfeld is a bit of a mixed bag but still quite a bit of wit and humour and dome engaging characters.

Favourite book? Timequake by Kurt Vonnegut, which I’d also recommend to anyone, though my preferred genres are horror and dystopian sci fi.

If that’s your thing too you should have a crack at House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski, just because it’s the maddest and scariest thing I’ve ever read.
