Not sure what to say really but needed to get it out there. How do we know we are losing our memory or something else. I'm afraid that's what's happening to me and it's frightening me. My brain and body is fighting to tell me something which feels very important but no matter what I do, I can't get the end memory. Things feel weird and sometimes it feels like the memory is real bit when I mention it to people I'm told it's not real. I'm seeing the Dr but just wanted to see if others had advice. Or am I just going bonkers |

Perimenopause? assuming it's the female half of the couple.
I'm neurodivergent and have 13 symptoms of perimenopause. GP thinks it's nothing.
I had a meltdown at work and have been off for more than 6 months. DWP Universal credit seem to think I'm too sick to work but I would rather work sigh.
I feel a bit better with psychotherapy and weight lifting but it's still very up and down.
If it's the male half get the GP to run some tests still and might be middle-aged crisis. We all go through it.
Hugs to both. |

You're not going bonkers.
Do you remember most every day things like where you parked the car and it's this nebulous, unidentified memory you can't quite grasp?
Hope the GP can give you some reassurance |

Sorry to hear this is affecting you right now, OP. I hope the GP gets to the bottom of it soon.
I had an episode myself a few years ago and thought I was losing my marbles! It turned out to be 2-fold: antibiotics ruining my gut (took high dose of pro-biotics); and the onset of menopause (now on HRT) and my memory function returned to 'normal' again.
I hope yours is as simple to fix.

As others have mentioned - whats your stress levels like… your brain will be fighting to give time to what it thinks is important- sometimes its not say to day stuff - is there just constant ‘noise’ in your head? GP & professionals is the way to go - hope you’re on the mend soon and it’s a phase… you’ll never be short of moral support in here… xx |

Always best to get things checked out. But sometimes when you worry it can emphasize a situation . As said above menopause can also alter brain function along with stress and everyday life . Try not to worry x |

I have terrible brain fog and memory loss.
I write down important things and use my phone calendar at clock app to remind me.
I used to have an amazing memory: now it's Swiss cheese covered in cobwebs.
I lose whole days and memories of things I've been told.
