It feels weird to be sad and indifferent about a death. As a wrestling fan, I can acknowledge his contributions and how big he was at the time, but considering I became a fan well after his prime and have recently known of him for his racism and being a MAGA shill, it's a bit of a difficult death to mourn.

It'll be interesting to see what WWE do with this given his reception at the Netflix Opening show. Not sure his passing will change too many minds. He wasn't well regarded in later years and was notoriously hard to work with. But I have to admit when I was a kid Hulk was the wrestling business. 🤷‍♂️

Mixed feelings. Everything about the man on a personal level is negative, however there is no doubting his influence on the pro wrestling landscape and WWE and wrestling today might not be anywhere near as popular without him.

Strong argument for him being the most popular wrestler (in his prime) of all time. Everyone knew who Hulk Hogan was. Even your granny who never watched wrestling in her life knew who he was

Old style red, white and blue ropes, chunky 80s style logo, big fan favourite doing the shirt rip and maybe even the old blue steel cage for a match.

Sometimes the racism and goodness genes, which manifest themselves late in life and, as a consequence, will accelerate aging and mortality.

In this case it didn't happen.

Ok so he may not of been the greatest of role models due to his past comments on race, and being a maga supporter isn't a good look either BUT what he did as a wrestler and for wrestling is just legendary, loved watching him as a kid and seeing him in movies especially thunderlips in rocky!

Even among other wrestlers he's considered a bit of a piece of shit...

But he's still one the biggest names to ever step in the ring and wrestling would never have been the same without him.

Shit people can do good things

Good people can do shit things

It's a loss for the world of wrestling... And in that it's sad that he's gone.

But yeah, a racist and staunch supporter of Trump... There's no defending it.

I stayed out of this thread for various reasons..

He was hated by a lot of other wrestlers for being out for himself rattling out other wrestlers to bosses

He was racist.. and modern black wrestlers hated him

The fact in his last wwe appearance he was absolutely booed out of the building showed how a lot of fans felt about him

But there is no denying that wrestling is what it is now without him

OK can I remind people that a RIP thread we should leave it just at that for the people who want to post on it to pay respects. If you want to discuss the person who has died then use a different thread rather than spoil a RIP thread.

To people who expect instant results when a post is reported with a "time " emoji and indignant comments, remember the site is not manned 24 hours. Mods and Admin do sometimes need sleep. If Mods are online and reading other threads they may not see a post that breaks rules when it is posted
