Does anyone know whether legally, we can stream on cam in the chat rooms now!? As of today, the government have introduced the laws stating porn sites must have age verification to enter. However, I don't believe there is such a thing on fab. Whilst it's not a porn site per se, are we considered to be making illegal content if we were to get up to no good on cam!? And what are the ramifications of doing so!?

I am pretty sure age requirements have been introduced on fab. You get a free day off site supporter for doing it too. Check your updates page

Check here. Age assurance has been introduced. It's possible you've already been age checked by accessing the site on a phone with adult content enabled

The biggest concern I can see on here would be the photos and videos posted either in those sections or peoples profiles. With these new revenge porn laws you should need to prove that the person in them is you, and if anyone else appears in them then fab should require their consent.

I think this is probably a ticking timebomb for fab, as if there's one complaint then they would have to remove all vid's and pics on the site and obtain consent. That would be an administrative nightmare.

I agree that pics and videos with others should require consent or even just the person to say that they agree that they have consent. If it turns out they didn’t, there is evidence that they have lied and said they did and posted illegal content knowingly.

And I think it’s particularly crazy that couples post content that says ‘not my husband’ lol

In our case the "Not the MR" pics are on there with consent that can be checked. As we say on the profile we are happy to provide the names so people can check themselves.

Personally I'm not a fan of seeing random people's pics on others profiles in general anyway. I think if people want to share "action shots" of others, they should have to tag them to prove they a) consent and are aware and b) they are a member here.

But I appreciate I'm probably in the the minority on that.

We think a system where a user has to confirm they are in the pics or videos is a great idea. You upload a pic or vid and it stays in limbo until the other party confirms or denies the request.

That would be quite an expense though to fab to maintain as they'd need to implement a system for consenting and the removal of consent. They would need a system that confirms that the person consenting is actually that person, which would require that person to verify personal information. Then you have all the GDPR stuff that goes around holding personal information.

The person would already be on fab and have done fab verification which took no personal information off of us whatsoever.

Age verification is completely different to consenting to intimate photos and vids of you being able to be publicly displayed. From FAB's legal perspective a consent form proving it was from that actual person would be required in case of a legal case against them. Then you would also need a system for removing consent so that all personal information that includes the photos and vids was removed.

I'd suggest reading the site T's & C's myself.

The rules and requirements for photo/video content are there for all to see and always have been.

Everything you mention is covered.

There is one very good upside to this new act for genuine FAB members. All the fake profiles that appear and disappear should reduce radically. Why ? because the sort of people that do this will not want to keep proving their age, and using a VPN won't help them because if they do they won't be able to use a UK postcode.

Have you looked at the age verification methods? There's a link on the updates page.

It takes seconds, and requires no ID. It's not an identity check. Just an age verification process.

Just wondered as there isnt really any logic that it will reduce people leaving and rejoining the site, given how easy it is to verify age.

I would have thought the government would have more important than restricting adults watching porn channels with adult content or being on adult sites
