I'm looking forward to it. I am hoping for an England win.
Every success they have is for the betterment of girls football at a grass roots level in the UK. The amount of opportunities young girls now have, that they didn't 20-odd years ago, is a testament to their success.
Fair play to the BBC and other television channels that continue to promote it. In another 30 years, as the sport grows, the quality will improve significantly.
I don't particularly care for people complaining about the quality of football on display. These women have not had the opportunities that their male counterparts have had over the last handful of decades. The continued support and investment in women's football will help massively improve the quality in years to come, and the Euro winners will go down as legends that helped shape girls and women's football in the UK.
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk. |

Hopefully the commentators could improve at the same time Ted. |

"Says a lot when they have to win games by penalties."
In what way? Running for 90 mins then another 30 minutes is no easy feat.
Also womens football has only 3 million out of 35 million invested in comparison to mens, which is less than mens non-league.
Absolutely brilliant game, which had alot of close calls, had me on the edge of my seat.

Quite a sad reply, really. Spoken like someone who has not played the sport, even at an amateur level.
I agree entirely with you. The amount of effort needed to keep their resolve against a strong Spanish side, and to keep their composure during penalties, shows the professionalism and drive of the England team. |

Robyn Cowen did a great job "
Not to take away from the players and manager, who has a winning way and that's great. Will hopefully do a lot for women's sport in England. But we want people to be engaged with it and enjoy it and the coverage is universally awful whatever outlet... Radio 5, Talksport, itv, BBC... It needs to improve for the armchair fans of which there are many. |
