Hi,
Seeing JoeBeans thread on overnight oats (which I adore making but haven’t done so in a while) got me thinking about smoothies and that I have never made one. So, having just purchased a wonderful new blender with all singing and dancing attachments, I now need some inspiration for delicious smoothies.
Which would you recommend? Please post your recipes below. Thanks!

I use a Nutribullet blender and mix up ice, skimmed milk, banana, cinnamon, organic oats and a spoonful of Flaxseeds. If I want it a little sweeter I'll add a little runny honey or a 'dash' of maple syrup. |

This one sounds like a recipe I found earlier on Good Food app, which I do fancy trying as a breakfast smoothie.

I do wonder whether consuming food in baby format as opposed to adult when we have to chew and process it is going to pay a price at some point.. But that aside...
The usual stuff really... Fruity bits... Oaty bits... Yoghurt... Honey...
Or juice... Fruit.. Ginger... Garlic... Pepper... (In normal quantities)... Sometimes a bit of chilli... To give it a kick and if crazy bananas... The odd green leaf. |

I suppose it can be more palatable as a flavoursome cooling drink that releases energy slowly and helps you feel fuller for longer.
You use some quite strong flavours and ones I associate with savoury dishes, which adds a very different experience to a smoothie that I am used to (ie shop bought stuff). I could be tempted to try these ideas, thanks.

"I like the banana one with yogurt. I wonder if an haribo smoothie exists too?
Haribo smoothie may be too sickly sweet but could look cute as a decoration.
Mrs" Hi sportyandnaughty, yes, you are right there, a haribo smoothie may be too sweet, yes, it could look cute as a decoration too |

"Can you make them out of peaches? My trees are so laden the fruit is falling faster than I can eat it"

Yes, but with simple ingredients so that you don't lose the flavour of the peaches: fresh peaches, almond milk, runny honey and a little banana for the consistency. 🧋 |

I might try one - do I just blitz it like I'm making soup?!? |

"Greek yoghurt, banana, chocolate protein powder, milk and smooth peanut butter 👌. We also buy bags of mixed frozen fruit, quick and easy in the mornings."
Apart from peanut butter this sounds lovely.

This sounds lush, I think it would be nice with some ice. Very refreshing. I think its just a case of throwing it all in a blender/bullet thing and whizzing it. Add the ice to the blender to crush it up maybe.

"I haven't made smoothies in a while but I just looked up what I used to do. My favourite one was cherries, chocolate protein powder, almond milk, walnuts, spinach, flaxseed and cocoa powder 😁"
It sounds like a black forest smoothie, flipping lovely.

Correct - if it's something like a NutriBullet™ which I use (and which also happens to make warm soup), put everything into and, like Mrs Sporty_and_Naughty mentioned, lots of ice.
Runny honey as opposed to 'normal' honey because otherwise it doesn't mix well and just sticks to the inside of the glass beaker creating pretty patterns. |
