Shit day! How do you cheer yourself up?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'm showered and already in my lounge wear and lying on my bed feeling a bit sorry for myself.
I have also demolished a few chocolates out of a box my friend gave me yesterday.
What do you do to cheer yourself up after a bad day? |

Put the phone down for an hour and do something at your own pace. Reading is good, write something in a journal, draw if that’s something you used to enjoy.
Remind yourself that you’re still in control and you can make good things happen.
And share some of the chocolates |

I would have to share them with my shadow as I live on my own! 🤣 |

"Just keep thinking about the voluntary severance package that my boss is going to approve me for... only a few months to hang in for!
Sadly that's not an option for me but I'm happy for you! "
Thank you... just keep on with those chocolates! X |

"Probably comfort purchasing, searching Ebay for something cool 😎
I love a bit of retail therapy but like TKMaxx! Because returning to whole lot is not an issue. Lol"
I'm watching my pennies so I can look but I can't touch! 🤣 |

Do something you don’t normally do
Message a mate who gets you laughing 😆 go spend an hour or two with them
If staying at home find something like a funny film or a stand up comedian and watch that
The best thing ever for the mind is laughter |

I battle through it knowing the happiness will only be temporary and the issue at large will still dominate my thoughts as I try to sleep, wondering where I went wrong in life that led me to this point... Or I just have some ice cream and watch TV |

"Used to be a combo of beer and chocolate, but I don't drink now. I try and use mindfulness and meditation instead, but the chocolate still creeps in now and then."
Thd chocolate has definitely crept in today for sure.
I do do some great work sometimes too.
No beer for me either. |

"I read the agony aunt section of the newspaper, that always makes me feel better.
Do they still exist? "
I pick up some old copies from the charity shops. You can believe some of the news stories, I can’t believe Bill Clinton is saying Monica didn’t blow him under the desk. I wonder if he’ll get away with it?

"Have you got a pet OP? "
I did and do have a lovely dog. However when I went to live abroad my parents looked after him and now particularly my Dad would be heartbroken if I took him back.
He's in very loved and adoring hands with them and they are there most of the time. My Dad is also in his 80s. I miss him a lot though but he's in the best place as my life is much busier and I'm not around as much as them. |
