I watched a utuber, she was in a cafe and ordered a tea, but when she got the tea, she said it tastes more like water, she was abit hesitant if she should complain or not, she said she felt a bit embarrassed to ask for a new one as it could of been her mistake.
That got me thinking, what kind of person are you, when you get the wrong order, do you go and ask for a new one or do you just accept it and have that one instead of the one you ordered?
I am the kind of person who would go and tell the staff they got it wrong and ask for a new order too |

I'm not afraid of complaining but I wouldn't do it over something trivial like a cup of tea, even though I'd be within my rights to do so obviously.
If I was in a restaurant and I was paying good money for what should be a decent meal, I would complain politely. |

Had something similar recently. Got the wrong order and other things never made to our table so when the bill came, I explained the issues calmly and got some discounts. I'd go there again, it's normally fine but they were very very busy that day. |

We are both OK with complaining when something isn't good enough, but only if there is value in it. If I've ordered food and it's wrong but I'm still happy to eat it, then I wouldn't bother. If I get something that's NOT acceptable, then yes... I want what I ordered.

"I'm not very good at complaining in public. If only I had a £ for every time the waitress asked me if my food was ok while eating in a restaurant, I answer yes, but mean no🙈"
I think we've all done that. I will only mention it if it's inedible or under/over cooked.

Not at all - providing it’s done with respect and with calmness, and objectivity.
For the first time ever I bought a coffee in Subway
Which was disgusting. I took it back and the lady who was in charge said well it’s coffee isn’t it?, She was so rude but I stayed calm., I was refunded and went elsewhere!
Service and products all have standards to meet, when you work abroad, it’s very easy to see how little retail skills we have here in the UK, product knowledge wise too!
I think it’s very important also to compliment and say thank you for good service and good product, it’s important.

On holiday recently in the far north of Scotland, I visited a hotel (on the recommendation of others) to try "The best Cullen Skink in Scotland".
It cost almost £15 a bowl and was ok but not great- however it wasn't poor enough to complain about. |

Yes if I need to.
I went on a caravan holiday a few years back with my kids and mum. On arrival we get handed our keys and off we go. Rock up and our caravan hadn’t been cleaned at all, it was like the people had just left.
Did I complain. You bet your arse I did. Firmly but politely.
We got another caravan.
I don’t make a scene but I don’t take flannel either. Firm but fair. |

I will complain if it’s deserved. Sometimes to the embarrassment of Becky.
But, in a service industry, whether that be food or accommodation etc. there’s a requirement to give good service.
I’m not afraid to speak my mind but will only do so when I know I’m in the right. |

Depends on the item and price of what I've paid for, really.
Food. A drink or snack, I wouldn't bother. A meal, I'd politely mention it's either not for me, or needs sorting out (undercooked, etc).
Material items. Cheap stuff, take the hit and never buy them again. Expensive, I'd complain and request a refund or replacement. |

It is not surprising the level of complaining has increased - the idea of good customer service in this country has gone to shit!
If something isn't right you have every right to complain (in the right way of course) - it's not a personal attack as everyone seems to take it |

I hate complaining. In a restaurant/cafe if something is bad, unless it's like completely awful and can't be eaten/drank I will normally take the hit and just not go back.
If it's a product I've bought, I will normally politely complain. But I hate conflict.
Having worked in customer services in my younger years I hate being rude to staff as well, it's unnecessary. |

I will complain, however I like to think I’m polite about it and never aggressive or swear. Not sure I would over a cup of tea, however if no one feeds back they won’t know what they’re doing wrong. We need to complain more at the time it happens rather than saying nothing and then leaving a terrible online review. |

I would ask them could they swop it yes. I wouldn't make a fuss or want any freebies because of it though, it was either a mistake or they are told to make it that way.
I remember once having to complain about my bank, the first thing she said after I told them what I was complaining about was " how much will it take to make this better" I said nothing, I would just like you to sort the issue. It looks like people expect paying for everything lately. They fixed the issue and sent a huge bunch of flowers as a sorry so it must be costing these places a fortune.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with politely explaining that someone has made a mistake. Most of the time people can’t apologise enough. But if the staff struggle to accept they have made a mistake, that will be our last visit to their establishment. Part of their training should be how to handle complains so I can only assume they are following management guidelines |

I've worked in complaints for 19 years so you'd think I'd be a dab hand but I hate it. Though I saying that, as I've gotten older I've definitely gotten more likely to not be mugged off. I'm very accepting of most things but if someone is taking the piss then it's a different story.

"Polite complainer. Even with a cup of tea. Surely you just ask for an extra bag if it doesn’t taste of anything. It’s not like the orders wrong if it tastes of water. But poorly brewed. " Hi amorous, that is good you are a polite complainer, yes, you are right there, as it should be what you have payed for too |

"For me it all depends on what's wrong, if it was something small then I wouldn't bother or if the mistake turns out to be a good one then why complain 🙂" Hi pinkblush, that is good how it all depends on what is wrong for you too |

I like my cup of tea, so I'd throw a right Karen wobble...demand another one, a letter of apology and for the waitress to bow down at my feet and beg forgiveness... Or I'll probably just drink up and pass in the future.🤣 |

A cup of tea I wouldn't complain about but if they mess up my mocha I've straight back up to the counter and asking a different member of staff to make me another.
I am aware that as I'm getting old my ability to moan and complain is getting harder to keep in check |

We have been out for a meal this evening. We won’t be returning to the restaurant that we visited. We didn’t complain.
I’m not frightened to complain, but in this instance there was nothing that they could do to make it right so I didn’t bother.
We just won’t go back. |
