So I’ve been talking to someone on the dating side of things now for a couple of months, but I’ve noticed they mention moving in together, going on holiday etc.
We haven’t even met up yet due to work clashes but am I being a tadge over-dramatic or does anyone else think at this stage it’s feeling a bit forced? |

Are they talking about it in a 'what's your attitude to?' sort of way i.e. trying to guage if you're compatible in the long term or in a way that suggests they have mapped a future together in their head?
If it's the latter I'd be running for the hills. |

Not 100% sure - the wording etc would suggest the latter and being straight up, somewhat reluctant to find out after that! |

"If you haven't been able to find time in a couple of months to meet up for a date, how can you imagine finding time for a holiday together ?"
That’s my thought as well, let alone time to do anything else. |

"Nope you’re right they’re a fucking lunatic and are probably looking to harvest your organs while you’re asleep. Leave well alone
Jesus that’s an escalation. 🤣🤣"
I figured in this day and age everybody’s to scared to tell the truth so I thought let’s play devils advocate. |

"Not sure talking to someone is dating but respect others might think differently..
Sounds like they have a plan Op..
Have you discussed it with them, their mentioning such things?"
I haven’t no, never really crossed my mind to do so especially as we’ve not even met, so just brushed it off as one of those comments. |

Arrange a date, if he or she turns up in wedding gear fake a medical emergency |

"I always wonder how serious someone is about dating if within a few weeks we can't even find half an hour for a coffee ...
Maybe its ChatGPT 🤔"
Oh my! We have to be wary of forming attachments to AI now 😱 |

We were talking via dm to a guy on another site once and getting on well. He sent a message saying that he was no longer looking as he had found the ideal, long term couple. We replied saying we were very pleased for him, wishing him well. He responded that the couple was us ! .
Needless to say...it wasn't |

"This is what you might call love bombing and future faking... Don't get swept up in it. Give them a deadline to meet for a date."
Future faking, I haven't heard that one before but it seems a very apt term for how a friend of our daughter has just been treated. 🤔 |

I did wonder if that is what is happening, but I’ll set a deadline and go from there. And being honest, never heard of future faking! 😅 |

She’s debating the pros and cons and mind you are worthwhile of actually getting into a serious relationship and aligned |

Thank you, I’d rather things just progress naturally than force it quickly for some reason or another, let alone well before meeting up! |

As someone else said, is this a philosophical discussion about your willingness to live with someone else? Or are they planning which end of the wardrobe they will get.
A distance relationship where you’ve not met (if you can call that a relationship) can very easily become all about what you might do under certain circumstances. For example, would you have the sirloin, ribeye or rump if we went to a steak house. Quite innocent most people would say. But if you’ve been talking for 2 or 3 months….. people often move in after that period of time…. So a discussion about which side of the bed you’d want isn’t a big leap.
The bigger question here is why you haven’t met? |

That has crossed my mind a few times! |

The only reason we haven’t met is due to working patterns, I work weeks and she works shifts and weekends, so nothing insidious! |

talking about moving in together before you've even actually met in person sounds a massive alarm bell to me! |

If your talking to someone, max one or two days, then just meet. Talking for weeks or months if a red flag |

Yeah I get that, I’m going to cut all contact and move on. Nothing lost in that regards. |

Even if you moved in together it seems like you wouldn't see each other. |

Would you say this is more a hypothetical question posed by them OP or are they genuinely just taking things too fast?
If I was you, I'd probably slowly back off. Especially if you haven't met and that question is being asked. |

Yeah, it would seem so thinking a bit more into it, but think it’s best I just cut all contact off |

I’m not sure, if I cut someone off I’ll stop being friends etc as there’s an incompatibility full stop. 😅 |
