I've done this all my life. Tried to be the person I thought people wanted me to be.
It's failed miserably. And wasted my life, when I could have been with someone who appreciated me for me.
I've changed completely now though and I'm unapologetically me...I like me, turns out a few other people do too!🥰 |

I'm not exactly the same in every situation or with every person. I would be different at a job interview to how I was at a swingers social.
The reason for that is that I know how to behave differently and appropriately in varying situations and with varying individuals.
I'm not changing my whole personality to do it I'm just showing different aspects of it |

If people do this then, surely that is part of their personality?
I know someone who, when visiting places where they have a different accent to them, they adopt that accent. I don't see this a mimicry, more behind a Chameleon, fitting in and not standing out.
These people may also choose people with seemingly different personalities to theirs as an outlet for the personality traits that they have and don't feel comfortable in revealing when they are with their usual group of friends. |

My mum would adopt speech patterns and accents. It sometimes caused offence because people would think she was taking the mickey. |

Sometimes you have to though like if you’re working in West Africa, you have to stop using all the little words and be more direct and blunt or people won’t understand you.
Adaptability is a key skill to adapt quickly to your surroundings & people types. |
