Such an odd question 🧐...really don't know why they ask it.
Anyways, does this unbuttoned shirt 👆 make me look fat? I feel it gives out this shadowie texture that covers the depth of my muscle insertions 👀...
ok but in all seriousness, do you believe there are clothes that make you look like you gained weight? And I'm not talking about muscle/fat suits 🙄...that don't count 😒 |

Yep. Even for men.
Badly fitting clobber can be unflattering, hang awkwardly and change the shape of someone completely.
It's why I don't wear skinny jeans. To 'ouchy' in the crotch depth and they make me look like I'm smuggling a banana. |

Uh.
Yeah.
Empire dresses make me look like a fat sack of potatoes, for example.
Boy clothes don't tend to have quite so much going on that affects it to the same degree, but there for sure are wild differences between the perceived physicality beneath baggy sweaters and a well fitted suit 💜 |

The cut of clothes can enhance or not.
I'm not very tall so a gathered skirt makes me look like I have hips out of proportion with the rest of my body. A dress cut on the bias will flatter most figures.

People, including myself, can look distinctly different in body form, by their style of clothes. If at a point when I'm especially sensitive about my looks, I don't want others to pick up on what I think is wrong.
It's a privilege to be asked about our choices |

Wear clothes that work with your build
I don't like my silhouette in a suit
Being short and chubby, I just see The Penguin
However, a single breasted woollen blazer with some good straight cut jeans, works
I won't wear buttoned up shirts with a tie either
An open collar takes the eye away from a heavy neck
If wearing an overshirt, I choose a heavy boxy cut
Lighter materials accentuate rather than cover up
I do find though, being comfortable in your clothes choice gives you much more confidence than just wearing the clothes cos it's the latest trend or because it's what you are 'expected' to wear
I am fortunate to work in an office with no strict clothing rules
I would hate to work somewhere a shirt, tie and formal trousers were expected
Likewise, I wouldn't work anywhere where the men's uniform was a polo shirt
They do no one any favours, unless you have a firm, lean body |

Just tell them whst they want to hear and save yourself an earache . Unless it’s your wife / bird then you can get away with honesty I guess

As someone who has lost more than half my body weight there are definitely clothes that make you look fatter than others. I have a BMI of 20 now and am still convinced I look fat in some clothes and out of them.
If I had your muscle definition I’d probably walk around with my shirt undone all day long |

If an outfit is unflattering then I'd want my partner to tell me before I left the house in it than for other people to comment on it when I'm somewhere I can't change it 💜 |

Somewhere out there |
Absolutely. For example a swing dress that flows out at the waist can hide more than a bodycon dress which is tight fitting. Same for stripes horizontal makes you look wider than vertical stripes. |

The clothes don't make people look fat unless they are fat
There are clothes that flatter a persons shape though and those that bring out your worst features.
Even if you have the most perfectly proportioned body , ill fitting clothes make you look awkward, uncomfortable and oddly shaped

Very true indeed. I wear very cleavage happy clothing as it distracts people’s gazes generally from narrow hips lack of ass profusion in clothing etc
I like my skinny jeans on my legs / but my ass doesn’t
I have no issues with friends telling me if something I wear looks abit whack. Then I’ll decide if I give zero fucks or not on said look issue |

If a woman asks that question then her girlfriends and/or boyfriend need to up their game.
She's a grown adult who can buy what she likes but they're supposed to help her when out and about to support her to buy things that best flatter her body.
AND their behaviour and the way they treat her ought to be such that she feels her best self, gorgeous in their eyes, sexy and adored as she is.
Get your idle finger out and make your woman feel adored! |

Some people have low self esteem regardless of what people around them do or say...not sure how a question like that immediately reflects low effort or lack of care from friends and loved ones...maybe it's just your experience |

I don't think it even has to be about low self esteem. Sometimes I'll buy something different to my usual style or just a slightly different cut and my brain will be too busy screaming that it's DiFfErEnT to fathom whether it works on me or not, so I'll ask someone I truest to give me an honest evaluation what they think of it. And I'm pretty happy with my body to start with 💜 |

Nope, not my experience. That's why I'm a happy girlie 🫶😁 & a girl's girl and someone who doesn't gatekeep love and affection from the people in my life.
Have to be the cheerleader and the mirror 🪞 ✨️ |
