Be nice?

There was a time on here when “be nice” didn’t have to be added to the end of an OPs thread.

What’s happened? Does a thread were the OP has asked for comment on the profile above always turn into a negative slanging match these days?

Yeah, because unfortunately some people get offended by the slightest thing nowadays. There are also others who feel they're far more superior than other forum members, feeling the need to put them down. Such is the world we live in. Be nice 😁

All over

I think the real trouble makers are usually obvious and can easily be avoided if need be. What I find quiet rude to be honest when I see threads where the OP replies to all the posts from women but none of the ones posted by other guys. Some sort of perverse masculinity or insecutity, who knows. Laughable though sadly.

These days the "be nice" comment is seen as a challenge or an insult.

It's usually used by people who are anything but nice and it's more about virtue signalling than actually wanting others to be nice.

There will always be those who use threads like that to have a dig at someone or hope for a pat on the head for a shallow compliment.

Oh I'm sorry if we don't give the opinion you want. If you didn't want honest answer don't ask it's that simple.

I'm saying nothing about your profile how's that.

These forums were much more fiesty a few years back!

However, I think it is a generalised term used on social media for those that don’t want differing opinions to their own.

“I’m going to say something highly controversial, but ya know, be nice!” kind of thing.

I think it can be a red rag to a person of an opposing viewpoint. Why not just let them debate, say what they think, let people show themselves up, and use some common sense in your own thread management? ….but then again my reply is probably a red rag to a be nice’er…

We tell each other what to do far too much imo
