Afternoon fabbers

Do you ever just feel sad? Can’t quite put your finger on the reason? But there’s that feeling that you can’t shift??

Do you just ride it out?

Round the bend

Sometimes, and I'm not very good at opening up about it either. I tend to just ride it out. Doing something that genuinely makes you happy helps, but when you're feeling low, motivation is an issue. I just have to give myself a kick up the arse and carry on.

Sending virtual hug 🫂

Totally do feel like that at times pal, usually just comes out of nowhere.

I usually try to just get through it by going for a long walk, music or an early night.

Hope you feel better in yourself soon 👊

Yes, sometimes I can feel out of sorts.

Something I’m working on at the moment is allowing myself to feel that and acknowledging that emotion isn’t weakness.

Everyone's way through it seems to be different. I find exercise and good company helps even if I don't want to do them

Very often pal, not ideal but when it really hits, I put my headphones on full blast music so loud I cant actually think and go for a long walk. I usually find after an hour or so the worst of it has subsided

I hope you get to feeling better bud, I really do

I tend to embrace days like that. Wallow in sad music for a bit, have a bit of a cry if feeling particularly sad. But those days are very few and far between these days.

There’s nothing wrong with embracing the sadness. You don’t fight off happiness so why fight off sadness. Just recognise if it starts to become problematic.

Yup daily, it's part of depression .

My day consists of a constant feeling of dread and the expectations that something terrible is about to happen, going through every catastrophic event I can imagine, feeling worthless and unimportant, lack of self esteem and constant feelings of guilt.

Overthinking everything and unable to rest then on the occasional day I can sleep my dreams are usually death and sickness.

Yup I sympathise

Unfortunately yes

GAD plus manic depression makes my days erratic

Yes, but even in darkest times I've found resilience to light the way...!

Yes and yes, I always try to catch the sad (kinda like a sad ghostbuster) rather than amplify it. Makes other people less sad

Honestly? I don’t really ever feel sad.

If I feel a bit shit I just go down the gym or for a walk but that isn’t sadness.

The Deep Dark Woods

Pretty much how I've been feeling for the past month, but starting to feel a bit more myself the last few days.

Unfortunately, my hormones have a habit of making me irrationally sad and I can find it more difficult to regulate my emotions. I ride it out and it usually levels off.

It’s absolutely normal to have waves of emotion.

Let it be there, allow the feeling to be present, and it will pass.

I did yesterday actually, no idea why, maybe the clocks. Didn’t stress it though, today I’m fine, my usual annoying self.

This might sound very silly, but when I feel like that it's usually fatigue or boredom. It took me until well into adulthood to realise that I often confused boredom with despair.

I call it melancholy, it's like a weird mix of sadness and apathy

All over

I am sure most of us do sometimes. Usually I go for long walk, fresh air or parked with a coffee and watch the world go by. I hope you feel better.
