Do ethically non monogamous couples still discuss individual prospective partners together before engaging or is the ENM label free reign to do as you please without discussing it with your partner?

Im well aware individual couples will have their rules and boundaries but Im trying to work out the nuances and intricacies of ENM vs traditional swinging

I would say they are slightly different and currently ENM works better for our situation.

My partner is fully involved and will have final say on any meets. It’s just respectful and works for us

ENM involves girlfriends and boyfriends outside of the couple, so they wouldn't necessarily discuss what they do, but may say, I'm going to stay over at *** for a few days, for instance. It all depends how the couple wishes to have their dynamic
