I’ve been on a video call with a colleague today, who is also one of my closest friends, and as we said goodbye at the end, I finished off with “love you” without really thinking about it. She then messaged me to say that no one has said that to her other than her kids and husband and how much she appreciated it.
My friends have got me through some of the worst times of my life recently and I have no issues with telling them I love them, it’s not the same as a romantic love but it is still love. It’s got me thinking about how often do we tell people we care about what they mean to us and are we told it by others?
So when did you last tell someone you loved them? |

You are right, nice thing to do and we don't do often enough. As you say different kind of love. Not romantic, no innuendo just the love for the person and how they relate to you. Just love for a friend |

This morning.
I tell my daughter I love her every morning, every night, and often during the day. She tells me the same thing. I used to tell my wife I loved her, too, and she'd tell me. It's important.
I made very sure I told my parents I loved them, before they passed.

Ailsa and I regularly acknowledge how we feel about each other. I love you and thanks for being wonderful are often said. Outside of our home though, appreciation is lacking. I don’t speak to many people, and mostly pass unnoticed unless I’m being commissioned for something. Xx |

I'm the opposite. I find it near enough impossible to someone I'm in love with, " I love you " but I will easily say " love you bye" to my friends.
I show love in different ways. People know if I care about them... And if I don't feel that way also. |
