It amazes me how many young lads are virgins on here between 18-22. And are using this platform to lose it.
Sign of the times they can't socialise?
Or something different? |

These lads have spent their teenage years gaming when we were out experimenting.
They have enormous thumbs though. |

"A lot of younger men are awkward socially and quite isolated. "
That's not new though, I was like that, especially where girls were concerned, I got to 32 years old without even kissing a girl/woman let alone doing anything else. |

A lot of social events have closed down since Covid and rising drink prices mean more young people don't go out. I'm sure you know how hard it is as a single guy on here no different on any other app🤷♂️ more young people on are online happens to heavily favour women. |

If by signs of the times you are taking into account Covid restrictions that extended well into ‘21 and ‘22 then indeed it’s not surprising that so many are inexperienced.
From closed schools/colleges/universities to being unable to meet others and when restrictions were lifted those important connections hadn’t been made. The opportunities and confidence in social relationships just didn’t happen. |

How many are there? How do you know? Have you done a survey or something? |

"What? Virgin’s you say?!
They should lock themselves away for Halloween. The witches will sniff them out 🧹
How quickly could a witch sniff one out?
Instantly, depending on the radius"
Lock up your virgins! 🧙 |

I only lost my virginity this year. I struggle a lot with social anxiety and in general have social skill issues. I find it hard to connect to connect with people and in general to fit in |

Yes, although I think that there are other longer term factors (dependence on the internet generally and on the IT on telephones in particular., changing patterns of work and socialising, etc.) involved too the repressive effects of largely futile and often socially and educationally (and even medically) destructive ‘covid fascism’ seems to have done a huge amount of harm to a lot of people’s lives, especially among the young. |

I think a big part of it is the digitalisation of social spheres and also access to work.
Another aspect is how can you you accommodate?
Rent is sky high once you leave uni.
Getting a house is very hard
For many a car is hard to aquire.
So suddenly, you are reliant on someone being able to host you, and that's a huge statistical killer.
Saying this as a younger millennial who is currently house hunting and back at my folks- bloody soul crushing. |

Young people have lost 2 years of their development due to Covid in addition to most office workers now working from home
Social media has set unrealistic expectations for both men and women
Going out is far more expensive so you're less likely to socialise
If you look at social media, guys are told they are creeps for even looking in a woman's direction (there was literally a viral trend of women picking a bear over a man to run into in the woods), so men are naturally deciding that trying their luck just isn't worth it. |

Such a shame that men have been demonised. Men are much more likely to be assaulted than women but media loves to make us live in fear, the vast majority of men pose absolutely no risk to women and are more likely to intervene than hurt us. |
