Currently looking for new winter jacket. Have a North Face 700. Anyone any suggestions on different brands that keep you as warm?

I swear by either Musto or Aigle for warmth, both fabulously warm & great quality… sadly not the cheapest!!

It depends what you want to use it for. I love my ancient Buffalo Super 6, but I probably wouldn’t wear it to go shopping.

My ski jacket is from Trespass.

Has kept me dry in a mega downpour and warm at the top of a mountain at -20, with just a base layer and light fleece type top under it.

Cost about £40 in the sales from trespass outlet so unless you’re looking for something ultralight and thin to do the job, be careful not to label shop

Yep as as avid hiker at altitude I am brand loyal to Rab. Served me well on top of Kilimanjaro and in the Himalayas so will definitely keep you warm in the UK winter!

I quite liked my Tresspass Waterproof coat, lovely and warm but got heavy on long walks. I’ve got a North Face one on order so hoping that will be a bit lighter.
