So with it still on so many profiles, what is the point? I know I read somewhere on here, possibly the faqs page, that it is completely unnecessary.

Tbh we know that posting any photo online comes with a risk!

So where did it all start? Was Sydney university ever actually interested? 😂

Manchester(ish).

There was an actual Sydney University social studies data breach.

The research was focused on relationship and sex and when it was written up and published the researchers accidentally included the participants personal details in an appendix.

Hence the nonsense about the disclaimer has spread....

My theory is that around the time Fab was created, Sydney had one of the premier specialisms studying masculinities.

Probably there was some sort of research program somewhere, about something, and it all got out of hand.

I use it as a filter

If it's on the profile they are obviously not smart enough to know that it's pointless so I give them a miss

Cardiff

I've heard many theories about it, but people with those bullshit things in their bio is a bit of a filter for me too

Agreed it is a good filter 😂 unless the rest of the profile it’s exceptional.

I think the best one I saw was a Sydney university caption, but changed to please use my photos and enjoy them instead 🙂
