.. they’re always the hot types aren’t they, never the butch ones. Why is that? 🤷♂️
Anyway, inspired by the other horror thread, what’s your fave Horror, Fabsters?
Me? I like the humourous ones, Scream, Nightmare on Elm Street that sort of thing.
Gratuitous slashers? Not so much.
I also quite like the classic 1930’s Black and White horrors, quite atmospheric
But what makes your hairs (if you have any) stand on end?
👻👹

"When it comes to lesbian vampires, one can’t beat Hammer Studios offerings (the Vampire Lovers is a boobtastic classic) 😍😍😍😍
Be still my throbbing phallus! 😍😍" totally agree with this the boobtastic comment 😁 |

Oh and sadly, as much as I love them, I’m all but completely desensitised to scary films now ☹️
Having said that though, the original, Japanese TV film version of The Grudge (there’s been numerous sequels/remakes since) gave me the willies - and not in a FAB related manner 😵💫😵💫 |

Japanese and Korean horrors are superb. American ones are all jump scare and gore and you can tell when somethings going to happen because of the soundtrack. Psychological horrors are great.
More recently, Fall of the house of Usher (an adaptation of E.A.Poe’s short story of the same name) and The Haunting of Hill House (adaptation of the book by Shirley Jackson) were really enjoyable with great little twists to the stories. |

I adore horror. But proper horror, not that jump scare every 5 minutes rubbish.
The work of Mike Flanagan, is brilliant, alongside the two mentioned in the above post Midnight Mass is sublime. As it's his film Dr Sleep, which managers the difficult job of being a sequel to both the Stephen King book and the Kubrick "adaptation" of The Shining.
Alongside that there was a sequel TV show made of The Exorcist which was brilliant. |

Midnight Mass was very nicely done. I also loved his Poe compilation/adaptation The Fall of the House of Usher. |

Oh I'm all for vampire lesbians, back in the day when channel 4 did its red triangle films I remember watching a very arty french film that was all mood and nakedness.
Has anyone seen Sinners? I loved it and the way it combined music with horror. |

I've yet to see it. My daughter recommended it to me. |

"... and on that note, didn't you love Mark Hamill in that? "
I absolutely did and I loved TFOTHOU. The way it adapted Poe's work and also seemed to tie it into Lovecraft. Reminds me I need to rewatch it. |

Big fan of folk horror, psychological horror, scifi horror and gothic horror.
Japanese and Korean horrors are great. In fact, some of my fave horrors are foreign language films from allover the world.
The formulaic Hollywood horrors don't do anything for me. I find most of them just stupid and laughable. |

Have you seen Xtro, set in early 80s English home counties? Low budget, but very uncanny. |

It was very well crafted.
Speaking of rewatches, I'm currently launching back into season 1 of Penny Dreadful. I think it's one of the most imaginative re-framings of a whole collection of gothic horror characters. I adore it. If I could please be reincarnated as Vanessa Ives, thank you... |

Loooooved Penny Dreadful 😍
I'm a bit 50/50 with Mike Flanagan. Really enjoyed TFOTHOU, Midnight Mass and Doctor Sleep, but found Hill House, Bly Manor and the Midnight Club quite boring and slow paced. |
