Rite is anyone else sick to fucking death of hearing about this shite,we live in little American I'm sick of all there shite coming over here and people wanking over it, Halloween now this what's next I dread to think...

It cracks me up that everything is so commercialised... remember when boxing Day sales use to be shops getting rid of old stock, that was quality products...now they have stuff made out of cheap materials purposely made for the sales and kid us that it's a bargain.😠 |

My wife is American, we celebrated thanks giving. As for Halloween what's wrong with that. It's a holiday for kids to have fun and it's actually a pagan holiday originally. Lots of houses did it this year I took my boy trick or treating and he had an amazing time and there was a real sense of community. What would you rather, a universal credit day? You want to slag off other cultures and stuff fine but recognize the state of Spain's housing British rich people or the absolute drug and piss put of benadorm from d up Brits. No need to be so narrow minded dude chill out be nice |

The best thing about Black Friday is watching the footage of all the idiots piling into the stores, and seeing them ripping goods from each others hands, shouting and fighting with each other, and generally being glad that I'm having no part of it whatsoever...... You'd think it was the only time of the year that you could buy a TV a few quid cheaper 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ |

Black Friday an admane idea to get people to buy things they don't need, by the way cyber monday is coming, Halloween nope that started over there, thanksgiving,well it kinda started by people who weren't Americans just yet, but the turkey farmers latched onto it pretty quick , there are some who would say we as Americans don't have any culture, that we took what we liked from everyone else, people blame the worlds ills on us ,okay , but I think y'all should look in the mirror |

I love Black Friday deals who doesn’t love a bargain? Is there any harm adopting something from our cousins over the pond?.

Perhaps there are nuances of 'cultural xenophobia' on this thread. As for someone saying that it's racist — it's not. I've seen a lot more abhorrent threads to warrant that label. |

I don’t think traditions and cultural festivals should be imported wholesale into any other country, or regions with a country for that matter.
By all means celebrate and take part in these festivals as that is what helps to make us a tolerant society. But if every tradition is imported it dilutes the traditions of the host country or region.
Thanksgiving isn’t a British celebration but there is nothing wrong with enjoying it. Black Friday is a different matter, it was invented to get rid of excess stock that retailers are holding onto under the guise helping people reduce the cost of Christmas. If they wanted to do that they should just reduce the price of these goods all year round as they won’t me making a list during the Black Friday event. |

Which guide have studied the Black Friday 'deals'. In 2021 they estimated 98% of 'deals' were not deals, they were lower at other times of the year. 2022, 92% were not deals either. |
