People who will do, say or show anything for likes. Someone once posted a picture of them holding hands with a loved one on their death bed shortly before they passed away some moments should be kept strictly private |

"People grieve in different ways.
Meanwhile other people take expressions of grief, and desires to connect during that grief, and use that to try to get attention by laughing at them on a forum."
I respect what you’re saying and I’m in no way laughing at them. I just don’t agree with it and I’m interested to read people’s opinions. Not everyone agrees with everyone..is that not the beauty of a forum? |

When I’m about to lose a family member..me personally, the last thing I’m thinking is to get my phone out, take a selfie and post it on FB. But maybe that’s just me |

Just scroll on by, everyone is different. This time of year is always a difficult one for me to get through but I don't want to decry something that might just be helping someone to get through whatever they are going through. |

"If you wouldn’t do it why does it upset you so much? "
I never said it upset me, I was just interested to know other people’s opinions on it There is nothing wrong with gaining an insight into other people’s thinking on a particular subject |

Interesting that you're only 35 OP as I believed that was accepted amongst the younger crowd. I agree with you, I don't get people posting private moments on social media. And I see it even in the fab forums..... people posting their sad stories. But there are more than enough people willing to pander to this behaviour here too. My opinion, it makes me cringe, and I pitty those who feel they need that type of public validation.

Such an odd vibe when the OP says something the majority of us agree with, but every post thereafter are just incarnations of the first few.
Anyhow, my pet hate linking this place with social media is 'add me on snap' etc etc. |

Hopefully you get some of the backlash I’ve been getting and take the heat off me lol |

Don’t think I even deserved the backlash lol. I’m not talking about people posting messages about loved ones or paying respects. I’m talking about a pic of someone in their last moments of life. I wouldn’t want a pic of me at deaths door being posted on social media |

I've never seen pictures on social media but many years ago a relative asked everyone to leave the room so she could take photos of her dad in his coffin.
Everyone respected her wishes but it was a topic of conversation for a long time after as no-one could understand why she wanted to do that.
She has never posted those pics on Facebook but every year on the anniversary of his death she writes a really long post on how much he is missed and what she has gone through since he passed away.
He died in 1986 and she has made that grief very public ever since social media was a thing. |

I’ve had friends lose their infants either through stillbirth or shortly after birth. The photos they’ve taken are the only ones they’ll ever have. It’s really not anyones place to judge them making the only memories they’ll have |

There are generations growing up on, or even through, social media..it seems their world view is different, particularly about private and shared spheres of their lives. They will be running the world soon, have the nuclear codes. We will all be annihilated when someone gets triggered about banana bread. Probably. |

See I think that’s fine, not something I would do but I wouldn’t think anything of it. If they accompanied that post with the pic of them in the coffin, that would be completely different lol |

It’s not the taking of the photos, it’s the posting of them on social media. Also if you’re gonna post it, at least put RIP baby angel and not baby ‘angle’ |

This place is full of attention seekers, unsurprisingly given the nature of swinging, often couples with exhibitionism.
“Fab if you would fuck this pussy” - remember something? |

I think a lot of people use social media as therapy - often amazed at the divulging of information on Tik Tok. |

"Simple solution: stay off all social media and you can't be offended or help fund the corporations that monetise over-sharing in the first place. "
Best advice ever. That’s what I did and I feel much better. |

And what if they did post them, and make a spelling mistake. How is that hurting you? |

I think if you were at deaths door you would hardly see the post, and once you were gone it would be too late to worry about it (oh damn, they did not get my best side!) |

It doesn’t hurt me in the slightest, I sympathise with them for their loss of baby angle. Everyone saying I’m upset or bothered by the subject I’ve mentioned in my original post is upsetting people a lot more than the subject upsets me |

I think sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between a look-at-me post that's insincere clickbait and a genuine outpouring of emotion or an attempt to raise awareness for a condition, etc.
You can't necessarily know.
Social media can make us cynical and cause us to look at these posts with a jaundiced eye.
I tend to scroll past and not comment unless I know them personally. Even then I'd private message not social post. |

Thank you for an informative response and not attacking a post where I just wanted to see people’s views on the subject lol |

Well it's emotive. People have strong feelings and many consider social media their personal notice board with the whole world their friend group of 5006843 close personal followers.
It's their normal. Their choices.
Not the hill I'd debate on |

As strange as it is for people, a bit weird for me included. I guess we all grieve in our own way. But speaking from my point of view, yeah I wouldn't be posting stuff like that |
